    Pop Up Blocker

Just rebooted and I've already been getting those stupid window messages saying that so and so is infected and that the only resolution is to click their window.

I had a free, reliable, pop up blocker on my old profile but now it's gone. It had a little blue stop sign as it's logo...

regardless, can someone recommend a good, free, and easy one to stop the previously mentioned pops and the others as well?

    Thanks

Yahoo pop-up blocker for the IE toolbar seems to work pretty well for me. Just search yahoo for it.

Google has a nice toolbar that blocks almost all of them. And it's less Spyware-intense than Yahoo's.

You're just asking for spyware with IE, you know. Even the government has warned against using it.

Mozilla would help. Anything other than IE, incidentally, would help.

Get Mozilla, do a system scan with Ad-Aware, and smile.

Yeah, Mozilla and FireFox are your best bet.

I partitioned my hardrive and my computer can run either Windows or Linux. I have Mozilla on both. Windows is used for internet surfing and gaming, Linux for everthing else, like programming, simulating, assignments, word processing, ect.

Best of both worlds, and no spyware problems.

Eh, we don't worry too much about pop-up. Only the annoying places with more than one pop-up per screen, and/or a pop-up on every page get really annoying, and I myself don't visit those places too often.

Besides, it doesn't seem to work against that sidebar that Geocities seems to be using right now.

Well, pop-ups can be a symptom of spyware. So if I see one I get worried and run Spybod S&D.

                    Re: Pop Up Blocker

I hate to admit it, but ever since this computer was upgraded to Windows XP, I've NEVER seen a pop-up. I hate it when Windows DOESN'T suck, because I've become used to relying on it doing just that.

I use IE, and have no problems with internet explorer, or pop-ups.
