View Full Version : A question about the indenting code.

I was planning on using the Indent tag for the Creative Writing Story, but now that I've officially tried it out, it doesn't just indent the first line of a paragraph, but the entirety of the paragraph, or everything inside of that tag.

Is there any way around this? To effectively indent only the first line with or without using the indent tag? I tried doing the Tab feature in Word, but it doesn't convert over to the actual post on this forum like it did with Ezboard. I also tried positioning the tags in several different places, but was met with failure each time. Just adding spaces before a paragraph doesn't work, either, as it ignores them, too.

Nothing happens if I just place both the indent and the /indent tag before the paragraph.

This happens when I put them before and after the first word, or anywhere else between the paragraph.

Here is the ignoring of spaces.

Here is the ignoring of tab pasted from Word files.

Any ideas?

You could just seperate your paragraphs with blank lines like you did in that last post. I suppose that could make things look ugly if you're compiling it with the old CWS, though.

It's not extremely important, and we do separate paragraphs with blank lines, it was just a stylistic formatting that we had been trying to keep up with at Ezboard. Now that we can't do it, it's not a big deal to just let it go. I was just trying some different things to maybe keep the tradition.

8 spaces per indent works well.

Oh, but it doesn't!

Ahh. Nevermind. Checking back on my posts, they did not show up indented like they did in the preview.

Darn.

Yeah, they didn't even show up in the preview indented for me. No biggie. We've moved on past this problem now.
