Who's the most famous person you've ever met?

    I've got a couple....

I partied in the basement of Dennis Hastert's house before he was speaker of the house. He came downstairs to talk to his son, who had invited a group of us over, and I got to meet him.

I met all the members of Smashing Pumpkins at an in-store, then later met D'Arcy outside Metro after one of their shows. I also met Billy Corgan when he came into my Best Buy store to buy a washer and dryer for his parents and an Aaliya (sp?) CD. I shook his hand after telling him how many times I had seen them in concert (16).

Stereolab a few years ago now knew me on a first name basis. I've hung out with them backstage probably 3-4 times.

Other musicians I've met:Sonic Boom, Kid Koala, DJ Spooky, among many others.

Sorry if this topic sounds like I'm trying to show off, but I'm legitimately interested in what famous people Pavvies may have met.

Fred Durst and Eminem. both before they reached any type of popularity. Fred Durst gave my sister's boyfriend at the time a demo tape which he promptly threw on the floor and smashed.

    ...

    yeah.

oh, does throwing a root beer bottle at the singer from 3-11 count?

I also posted at the same Transformer message board as Ville Valo from HIM for a number of years.

Oh, I forgot Aphex Twin, Alex Patterson from The Orb, Bob Pollard from Guided by Voices, and I have Wesley Willis on videotape signing a CD for me where he misspells his own last name. On my CD, he spelled it Wilis.

I've had conversations with Reverend Gadget. This dude build many of the set pieces for the fim Gattaca and was prominent on the Discovery Channel shows Monster House and BIGG. He's quite knowledgable of electric vehicles and renewable energy.

A lesser known Hollywood type that I've exchanged info with online is Paul Vato. You can see his videos on youtube, but he's been doing a lot of skits on Mad TV as of late.

But actually met these people in person? Nope.

A friend of mine did get to meet Tommy Chong though. I've got the photos to prove it.

At a con, I asked the guy who played Darth Maul what his favorite fruit was, and asked Anthony Daniels (this is right after Ep.1 came out) what use a slave boy would have for a protocol droid. To which he responded in an indignant tone three times as he walked away from me, "How Dare You!" He then turned back to me once he got to the front of the audience, and told me that it was a way to write him into the script. To which I gave him a thumbs-up.

I recently saw Shannon Elizabeth last week in Vegas. She had just gone out in the World Series of Poker.

But for most famous I guess you could count the time I went to a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton. Oh and Spike Lee and Edward James Olmos give talks at my school, but I didn't actually meet them.

I played basketball with Adam Sandler at Pepperdine university once.

I was in line in front of Cameron Diaz at Subway in Malibu.

Today some guy introduced himself as "Enrique", telling me his CD comes out next week but I could buy an autographed copy from him today (I hope he doesn't get famous, I didn't buy one).

I've partied at Atreyu's (band) house many times before, they live pretty close and they used to go to my high school.

My fame list doesn't reach very far. Most for me was David Crowder... but that's because I go to Baylor.

The topic says famous people not people in a band.

One more, and I promise I'll stop....I saw Crispin Glover live, and after the "show" got my picture taken with him and got him to sign his CD for me.

I guess they're famous within the Christian community. *shrug*

And now that I think about it (I tend to forget this), I did meet Billy Wagner who used to be the closer for the Astros, and Ken Griffey Jr. and Randy Johnson. It was so long ago, I usually forget about it. I got Wagner's autograph.
