Games that you love that have HUGE, GAPING FLAWS!

    Champions: Return To Arms

Holy crap. Where do I start?

    - Health and mana bonuses that don't work? Check!

    - Having more than 65 accessory/quest items causes you to be unable to pick up any more? Check!

    - "Number of enemies killed" missions that have disappearing enemies? Check!

    - Wizard spells that disenchanted permanently enchanted weapons? Check!

And the list goes on and on!

But still...I've played this game more times than should be allowed by law. What can I say: I like slaughtering my enemy.

    Xenogears

Holy crap. Where do I start?

    - A overly complex story that fizzles out by the second disc and is replaced by page upon page of mindnumbing text? Check!

    - Random battle after random battle after random battle that make you enter long series of button sequences to vanquish your enemies? Check!

    - The Towel of Babel + jumps = controller through screen. Check!

    - Chu Chu. WTF is that thing? Check!

    Oh. There is probably more.

But still: this game is in my top ten of all time. WTF, man?! Am I out of my mind? Must be!

Re: Games that you love that have HUGE, GAPPING FLAWS!

    Dare I say it?

    Guitar Hero 2!

-Songs on Expert are harder than on real guitar (YYZ, anyone?)

    -Taps are virtually impossible

    -The covers aren't very good

-You don't get money unless you get a higher star than your record

-Half of the guitar solos don't even exist in the real songs (Woman and Surrender come to mind first)

-It requires a $30 controller in order to be played

    -NO STAIRWAY

-And some other stuff I can't think of

But still...nothing boosts one's ego like a "You Rock!"

...oh, and it's fun as ****.
His soul swooned slowly as he heard the snow falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead.

        Paladin's Quest

I love this game. It's easily my second favorite SNES rpg even over FF6 and Chrono Trigger. But it's really strange in both design and gameplay. It's not necessarily a bad game, just different.

          RPG Maker 3.

100 person limit, no "move character/event" command, no camera control in editor. it could have been perfect.

You can control the camera in the editor, well, you can zoom it In and Out

                Onimusha

--Love it to death obviously. But the inability to use analog was whack. I didn't like the control scheme. For a hack-and-slash game, it didn't fit appropriately.

                Resident Evil

--Excellent game. The only thing that ruined it......the voice acting.

                Final Fantasy Tactics

--Another excellent game. The translation was horribly flawed with a few spelling mistakes. I expected Square Enix to do better, and hopefully they will with the "War of the Lions" PSP remake. Plus, the difficulty was a bit unfair at times.

                      Halo 2

                      - Half a game? Check!
                      - Stupid, plain story even though everyone and their mother insists it has a deep, involving universe? Check!
                      - Repetitive level design? Check!
                      - Useless weapons like the Needler and pistols? Check!
                      - Overpowered weapons like the Sword? Check!
                      - Weapons that won't work no matter how many times you shoot an opponent in the face at point-black range like the shotgun? Check!
                      - Blistering lag in multiplayer? Check!
                      - The worst people who play videogames play it? Check!

                      But dammit, I can't stop.

                        FFXI

                        Dare you ask.

                        - Extremely unbalanced monster/exp ratio
                        - Many many many long hours spent grinding in a group.
                        - Soloing is not a viable way to gain exp, unless you're a certain job.
                        - Fun content only exists at endgame.
                        - Crafting brings no worthwhile profit anymore (unless you count fishing a craft)
                        - Newest expansion has shunned BLM's as viable exp party members from level 50 and up.
                        - Horrendously difficult storyline missions.
                        - 10% exp loss upon death.
                        - Travel from point A to point B takes 15-30 min. at least.
                        - Many areas are completely unused due to difficult mobs / lack of content.
                        - Many areas are over-camped due to easy mobs that give generous exp.

The list goes on. I still play it!
                        ...and that's why.

                          Gundam Battle Assault 1 , 2

                          - Overly cheap bosses
                          - Hard to pull off killer moves that make you feel like you are just button mashing.
                          - Battle damage is done almost randomly it seems like.
                          - Limited move sets

But I still love playing them.

Just about all of those things forced me to leave FFXI. Except for the recent expansion--since I never got the chance to get that far.

I still think it's a good game though. Just not for me. The dedicated gamers will succeed.

I could be mistaken, but I don't think it was Square that translated it.

                              Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

                              Chapter 5...
Land on the island. Hey, let's go look for the missing crew members!
Found them, let's head back to camp!
Oh, wait. We forgot one of them. Let's go look for him again!
Found him! Oh, he needs a drink. Let's head to camp again and get one.
Okay, got the drink. Let's head back to the lost member and give him that drink.
He's fine, now let's head back to camp to find out what to do next.
Ah, we're supposed take this jewel back to where the lost member was.
                              ARGH!!!!

                              Chapter 7...
PM Developer One: "Okay, we're doing good so far. This is turning out to be a decently long game."
PM Developer Two: "Hey, I have a great idea! Let's make it even longer by forcing the player to find this white bob-omb by VISITING EVERY FREAKING PLACE IN THE GAME ALL OVER AGAIN, ONLY TO HAVE HIM WIND UP BACK AT HOME WHERE WE STARTED!!!"

                              Freaking GRAH!

These are only two of the instances where this happens. Other than that, Paper Mario 2 is a pretty great game.
