I decided to have a contest to give away some brand new Nintendo DS games I have. They are as follows:

-Bubble Bobble Revolution (based on the classic Taito game)
-Rainbow Islands Revolution (ditto)
-Gunpey (released by Q? Entertainment, makers of Meteos, Lumines, Every Extend Extra, and Rez)

The contest idea was inspired by a scene in Richard Linklater's wonderful film Before Sunrise. So here's the details....

I want any form of writing that you wish to submit, be it a poem, short story, essay, or some random rambling. It can be any length (within reason), but must use each of the following words at least once each: (please bold them in your entry)

Apoplectic
Pomegranate
Llama
Niblet
Pontificate

The games will be judged on a 100 point scale as follows:

*25 points for spelling and grammar. Spelling and grammatical errors will have points deducted.

*25 points for overall creativity of the work. This includes the ability of the writing to hold the reader's attention.

*25 points for creative usage of the five aforementioned words. This would entail using the words in some context of your writing, not just plugging them in just so they are included. Each word not used will have 5 points deducted from this score.

*25 points for polish. This includes how well-written the writing is.

If you wish to submit an entry, PM me so I can send you my email, as I don't want to post it online. Please cut and paste your entry into the body of the email, as I don't have Microsoft Word. Include the word CONTEST in the subject line, and please include your Pavilion name somewhere in the body of the email.

Please only enter the contest if you have a DS (these games will not get you much money at Gamestop), and only if you've been a member of the Pav for at least 6 months.

I'm also looking for 2 more judges, so if you want to help me judge this thing, please post here or send me a PM.

The scores from all three judges (myself included) will be averaged, and the top three scores will win one of the games. The highest average score will get first pick of the games, second place will get second pick, and third place will get the remaining game. If there is a tie, whichever writing receives the highest average score for the category "creative useage of the five words" will be declared the winner.

So that's the contest. I'm setting the deadline at midnight CST on August 31st. That'll give you more than a month to write something. Any questions? Interested? Feel free to post here or PM me.

Good Luck.

Hehe, I can easily use these words in a re-write I'm working on... though, finding a place for Llama will be difficult. This should make things interesting. :grin
