Is the music in this game all the music there is?!

Can't I upload music I already have into the game? Is there any way to have music other then the preset tunes? I desperately need to use better music for the final bosses in my game instead of "Sanctuary" for the first and second, "Carnival" for the third, and "Boss Battle 3" for the last final boss! (Those were the ones that best suited my taste for the final boss fights that I could find, but I am trying to add music to them that is not preset in RPGM3)

You are stuck with the music that is aviable.

In RPGM1, you could make custom music using sound effects, but you couldn't listen to them without pausing the action.

In RPGM2 you can make custom music using sound effects, and play them with other stuff happening.

In XP you can use any music you want.

I wouldn't think about using custom music in RPGM1. Really, there is only 1 musical sound effect (an out-of-tune piano), and you can't move or have cutscenes or have battles or anything while it's playing (which is what the above person meant, but I thought I'd clarify).

Well does anyone know what platform XP is on? And thanks for the help... If i had done more research, I wouldn't have gotten this game if you couldn't put in your own music, but I'm thankful that I even HAVE an RPG Maker game.

XP is for the PC, it is $60 though. I have no idea where to buy it.

...and when RM4 comes out with its $80+ pricetag, not to mention the $500+ for the PS3 required to play it, you will not be alone...

If you're just looking for mood music for a few seconds you might want to check out the melodies as well. I think you can activate them and let the player walk around while it's playing.

Unfortunately I doubt we'll see a console RPGM with music upload features, not because it's impossible, but because people would start putting copyrighted tracks in their games and probably cause a legal fiasco. It would be nice if there was a music editor, though.

XP is available at downloads.com. You basically download a month long demo, then purchase the product key to continue using it after the 30 days are up. It's at least worth a try.

Just in case we get a gullable person to read this, RPGM4 has not been announced yet, and as such we don't know the price or the system it will appear on.

Yeah, good post Dray! (no need for more mayhem and confusion re: RPG Maker 4)

To add to what Tjoris was saying about melodies, if you time them well with auto events controlled by time, you can have an almost seamless flow of melody as you walk around. These can't be used in a battle though.
