It's a good start. Now they should move on to the other annoying and over-done news stories, like that murder of the pregnant woman(it's because she was a white girl that such a big deal is being made), or the Chris Benoit thing(Being a *former* wrestling fan, I was as shocked as anyone else upon hearing of it, but it's already getting on my nerves).

She could've just done the stupid thing instead of wasting time. The reason they lead off with Paris Hilton is to get viewers who only care about that crap to watch the rest of the important stuff. It's just a hook to get viewers.

Well then you put it on at the end. Seriously though a real news station should not be covering the lives of celebrities. Our country is already apathetic enough towards politics and the general well being of our government. Should we really continue to force anchors and such to carry this crap because it's popular, yet has no bearing on anything, except the pandering of our judicial system to celebrities and those with money. Paris would likely still be in jail if her father didn't own a hotel chain. We should be teaching people that celebrities are just normal people, and their lives should not be exaulted above everyone else's just because they have money.

So yeah it sucks they still ran the footage anyway, guess MSNBC wants to be grouped in with Fox News style news stations.

As for the anchor making a deal of it, I'm sure she had to say something or they likely would have fired her on the spot for not running the top 'news' story.

I thought they were genuinely trying to be supportive of her decision and tried to downplay the fact that she was more or less melting down. They even seemed to be worried about her job too.
