    Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter

*sigh* I love this freakin' game. It has to be my favorite BOF besides 3. And I love the dragon system it has. And the art style of the game is too badass:

Anyway, I'm just wondering, who else loves this game? It was challenging, fun and inventive and I hope BOF isn't over.

I liked turning into a dragon, except for that stinking counter that went up whenever you did anything with it. It was original, but so aggrivating.

It never looked appealing to me. I liked BoF3 but this looked like too much of a departure.

Ah, that only if you don't know what you're doing, lol. It's a trial and error type of game. Although, I learned that the best way to beat it is to just fight everything you see. The battle system is awesome too, but everyone has their own opinions.

Each game in the series has gotten successivly worse since the first game until we're left with the weirdness that is Dragon Quarter. Also the plots and designs have become more and more like generic anime.

It's a good enough series but second tier status for sure.

i can't say that i LOVE Dragon Quarter, there's just too much that makes it more tedious than fun sometimes. i never have beaten the game, but i've played it long enough and up until the few final bosses. the battle system takes some getting used to, but once i got the hang of it, it definitely grew on me. gloomy is right. the music, art and overall atmosphere is really well conveyed.

like a lot of people, i think BoF III was probably the best of the series so far. although i really love BoF II.

and Capcom would be dumb to pass over making another BoF. the fanbase is there ready to embrace it, Capcom just needs to not take BoF the direction Dragon Quarter took. i think it was too much of a depature from what BoF was before it. now, with Final Fantasy, its slowly evolved over the years and so, nobody minds the fact FFXII makes a big change in the overall battle system and such. DQ should've been simply subtitled and not advertised as continuation of the BoF saga.

The best part of BoF for me was always being able to turn into a dragon. It goes back to being kid and playing the first game. So having limitations put on that like in Dragon Quarter or Bof2 is really lame. So is getting only a stupid gargoyle in Bof4 that just gets pallete swaped. Give a goddamn real dragon Capcom. Not a mud slug.

The countdown aspect was easy to exploit. Just don't use it until you face the last couple of bosses. You eat them alive.
Yep! especially the Regents with their 500 - 1000 dmg shields.

I wouldn't say .Hack got worse so much as it got repetitive. Because honestly, isn't it more like story expansion packs than sequels? When I get bored enough to beat the third, I will move on to the fourth.

Kumo still hasn't beat number 4 yet. And he still has GU to go to. I feel sorry for him.

Dragon Quarter has been a weird experience for me.

Once I go through some games I've been neglecting, I'm gonna go through this again for the third time. Every time I feel like I'm sick of the game and want no more it pulls me back in.

I really love the music, storyline, characters, art, and overall mood of the game. And I don't understand where all this complaining about the difficulty is. But then again, this is coming from someone who never uses Elixers in Final Fantasy games.

Don't. I'm not buying any .Hack crap.

Dragon Quarter was a very good game. Atmosphere, battle system, and story were very well rounded and good (well, the battle system is to a point).

Overall, if you like BoF, pick this up and give it a try.

...And I mean a GOOD try not a half assed try.

Nobody uses Elixers in Final Fantasy. What kind of a person would go about using his Elixers and X-Potions all willy nilly? You gotta horde them items never to use them until the final battle when you don't really need them and maybe you use an Ether to boost your MP.

I tried, I tried so hard. Then I died. An hour worth of work wasted.
