Rainbow Island: The Story of Bubble Bobble 2? Never played it. Never wanted it.

I liked the first Bubble Bobble. It's still one of my favorites.

I played it once, but that was like WAAAAAAAY back in 1992. If I recall, it was OK, albeit quite difficult. But then again, I remember quite a few areas in the first Bubble Bobble giving me grief. There was also a proper Bubble Bobble sequel, but I have yet to play it.

I got it in the Taito Legends package, and most of the games in that compilation are garbage sad to say.

This game is hard. Hard as ****ing balls as Misty would say.

I never beat the game, either. Once I got to the level where you have to deal with nuts and bolts, I lost.

You die in one hit, and as you get further into the game the monsters will just rape you.

The boss I was talking about consisted of one giant fat clown and four smaller fat clowns all spinning aound the room like pinballs and the smaller ones would regenerate after you killed them. The larger one takes like 20 hits to kill, I got him down to 3 life bars and that was the closest I got before I threw the controller across the room.

I've never been so frustrated at a game in my entire life.

But, I will agree that Rainbow Islands is a difficult game. Having played it a couple of times myself, and really wanting to enjoy it, I recall...uhh....swearing quite a bit.

I played that a lot when I was young. Liked it, although I liked Bubble Bobble and Bust-a-Move even more. I don't think I ever even got to the clown boss...

You use rainbows as "steps" to climp stages vertically, and you also use them to attack. Rather fruity, actually.

I'm about ready to break this game. I played it again last night and got to the same spot. Why am I wasting my time playing this fruity game.
