What's the longest you've ever spent on a game?

You recall that I bought Onimusha recently for $3.99. Well, I decided to play it again from the beginning last night, having spent about seven hours non-stop until the dawn of morning.

I got as far as ..... just barely past that annoying water-trap puzzle part. I spent much of my time absorbing souls and killing demons. Mind you, it was quite satisfying. I relived the glory days. Then I fell asleep. Only got two hours of sleep, and I feel groggy as all get out. But Kaneshiro was worth my time.

It's a long time spent on just one game, but Final Fantasy Tactics holds the record of the most time I've ever spent playing one game in one whole night--thirteen or so hours just leveling my units. Yet, nothing could beat the exploits of one of my friends who conquered Final Fantasy Mystic Quest in one full day--non-stop.

What's the longest you've ever spent on one game? Reflect on this if you'd like, and excuse me while I go back to sleep.

Back in the day, I spent most of my day playing many new game +'s of Chrono Trigger (I don't think I ever got past being in the lv70's for everyone. I just kept playing from start to end each time), then a lot of time on Tobal 2 just trying to finish all the dungeons for each character.

When I played FFXI, it was easy to waste an entire week, mostly because you spent hours and hours waiting to get a party going since Square felt that no one would want to solo.

Lately I've spent a whole weekend playing through Obvlivion. Mainly for guilds, but when my main character got turned into a vampire, it was the most annoying day I had just running around getting ingredients to cure myself. After that, I found out later I could prevent turning into a vampire by going to church. @_@ But since i had already become one, I had to do the long quest.


I'm downloading the beta for Sword of The New World, so I'll definitely try to spend some time on that to see how it is.

hmm.... even though i just got it not too long ago, i'd say Monster Hunter. i've already amassed over 1,300 hrs.(and counting).

i remember when i got suikoden II, i played that literally non-stop and got over 24 hours in a couple days time. i skipped school for those couple of days and didnt feel bad about it at all.

in total, i'd say i have the most time spent on Breath of Fire II/III/IV, Final Fantasy VII and probably Xenogears. Breath of Fire III's clock stops at 99 hrs, so i really cant say how long, same with FFVII.

i dont know... it's a tie between a lot of games.

By far, World of Warcraft.

My Warlock has 17 days played.
My Warrior has 74 days.

And those are just my two main characters. I probably have another 30 or so accumulated on other characters.

FYI, that's approximately 2,904 hours of time played over somewhere between two and three years.

Remind me to get a life.

When I first got MGS2 I beat it in one sitting, that took me about 11 hours. Oh yeah, I once played fable for almost 24 hours, and when I first got Xenosaga 3 I called in for work and played that for about 14 hours straight. (It was a good game!) I can't remember how long I played RE4 the day I got it, but I almost beat it that day.

And only God knows how long I spent in straight sittings playing pokemon red and zelda oot as a kid.

The longest matathon session I have ever played was actually fairly recent. Since I knew my life would be taken over by Pokemon on the DS in mid April, and a slight setback due to my being hospitalized for about a week, I had to blast through what was left of Super Paper Mario as soon as possible. Thus, I ended up playing for over 16 hours straight on my last session, from the sixth chapter to the end of the game. It was fantastic, and well worth it.

I shall get back to the game sometime later to finish the remaining sidequests, including the second Pit of 100 Trials and the Sammer Guy tourney.

As for the longest I've ever spent on a game, that would be Monster Rancher 2. I've been playing it for abouts eight years, and have logged thousands of hours into it. I stopped counting at about 1200 hours, methinks.

Honestly, I've never really done a lot of these marathon gaming sessions...that I can recall. Life gets in the way far too much.

If we're talking total game time spent, my answer would probably be Starcraft. Most obsessive would be Suikoden II, but the answer of longest play sessions with? Either Final Fantasy VI or VII, probably.

It's not like I'm a wimp, either. I'd say that I've clocked multiple 5-7 hour gaming sessions. Just never really did a marathon session. Then again, I'm thinking of doing a Chrono Trigger marathon to see if I can complete it in one sitting.

The first time I played Final Fantasy II for SNES, I beat the entire game in one twenty-hour-ish sitting. That was back when I was maybe nine or ten.

Aside from spending about 400 hours on RPG Maker, the most I've spent on a single game total is FFXII, which I spent about 200 hours on across two playthroughs.
