Free roam characters

I wanted my chracters to roam my town freely because when they move back and forth or side to side its just not real enough. Its actually quite simple make 21 events for a character make the first one "Move random" and the second "Idle". Keep this as a cycle, but dont forget to make 2 variables do this add var. and then minus var.. 1=going 2=stopped this makes it so it will keep going by itself because then you would need infinity events to keep it going. If you dont understand tell me.

Ok well you dont seem to understand. I wanted my characters to walk about my town freely, they just walk and walk its never ending. Not like the event option move left-right or move up-down they move freely I dont control it.

Why exactly do you have these events?

Characters can move freely on the... wait, I think I know what you're talking about. You want NPCs to move around randomly, right?

I think somewhere in the People Editor, on the last page, there's a tab which takes you to some settings, including random character movement. I don't think it'll let them roam the whole city though....

Ok i know that but on random setting they move to any location within 15 feet and come back but see, I made them idle after moving randomly so they dont move back. It just continues forever.

If I remember correctly though, upon re-entering a town, the NPCs start at the same place each time. They reset themselves.

Yes, but they wont choose the same path they chose last time you were in town.

Ok, I understand what you accomplished now. But I still don't quite understand the explanation of how you did it.
