it actually doesnt have it's own topic, so here it is.
PS3/360/Wii/PC/PS2 (out on the 26th)
Follows the movie's plot depending on the faction you choose. stages are environments with multiple missions scattered around each area. New transformers have been designed by hasbro exclusively for the game (also available as toys). Unlockables include G1 character skins like the original optimus prime, commercials, TV series clips, box art and more. PS3 uses sixaxis tilt sensor for the flying decepticons in their alternate modes. all console versions feature near 100% destructable environments where almost anything can be used as a weapon. environmental damage is preserved even when you change stages.
DS (out now)
Two versions available. each follows one faction, and has exclusive stages. You can scan any of 30 vehicles in the game to use as a new alternate mode. Online play involves a never-ending war between the autobots and decepticons, which is waged by downloading challenges and completing them. Winners every month will be displayed on the website. amazingly, features a ton of high quality voice acting and a CG opening. if you want a portable TF game, get this one.
PSP (out now)
3rd person shooter, has unlockable characters from previous generations, for a grand total of 20 playable characters. AVOID THIS. READ JEROAK'S EXPERIENCE WITH IT IN THIS TOPIC. DON'T BUY THIS.
and just one little heads-up, best buy will be giving away a free figure with purchase of the console games (possibly handheld versions too, I dont know yet). Its possible it will be a movie figure, but it may also be someone from the recently-ended classics line (game crazy is apparently giving away classics bumblebee or cliffjumper, for example)
