    Mini-Games

    I was wondering if anyone had any bright ideas for Mini-Games. I am not very good in this part of game creation. The only ideas I have so far are:

    -Minefield game, where if you step on a certain point you blow up and start at the entrance of the Mini-Game. This could be used during a war, or maybe just a fun little game the player can play to get to a treasure.

    -Car Shooting, this might not work too well, but I had the idea to be driving in the back of a truck or van, and the player switches to FPS mode and tries to shoot cars that attack your vehicle. If your vehicle takes too much damage you start from the beginning of the chase again.

    -Gameshow, this is self explanatory. You compete in a Gameshow for cash prizes or special items, if you need to study you can go to the library.

    -Random Drawing, at certain points in the game, you can enter a random name drawing contest to recieve a prize. It is like all of those internet ads, but you get these items. (on the game)

    That is what I have for now. Share some ideas or tell me how I might go about doing these above Mini-Games.

    I would do the minefield one. It would be easy to script, too. Here's how I would do it: have transparent event boxes to be equal to that will kill the party or teleport them to start (resetting the flags to first level), then create flags for all of the mines on the grid. Then have it so after the player navigates to the end they will get treasure, then be asked if they want to do it again. Yes= Turn on flags for more mines, and turn off the first treasure script. Have a second treasure script that will give the players more treasure than they had before and ask them the same question as before (whether or not to continue) and activate more mines, turn off the second treasure script and have another one, for as many times as you want. No= Teleport outside mine area to mini-game initiation area and reset flags to 1st level. OR you could make a multi level dungeon, each floor with more mines and more treasure at the end the higher you go.
    I would skip the car shooting one. Very complicated.
    Perhaps for the game show you could do a price of right-esque bidding on different items, then win the items if you guess right. With the number insert script this should be a snap.
    The random drawing is harder. Perhaps it could be more like a lottery? Like you can buy more tickets and when you buy a ticket a winning value goes up and you get to guess the winning numbers;

    Number Insert Script
    If Number= (4 digit number here)
    Turn Flag A On
    If not=
    Screen Display: Thank you come again!

    Guess Right Script
    Requirements: Flag A On
    Auto
    Val1 +50 (For sake of example)

    Win Script
    Requirements: Val1 > 49
    Auto
    Music: Victory Theme (Whatever you find appropriate)
    Turn off flag A
    Var1-50
    Turn on Flag B
    Screen Display: Congrats! You have won the lottery!
    Party:Possessions: Cool Item (what ever)/ Party: Money: +Alot (whoever much you deciede)

    After this, there will be no more lottery after ou win I have yet to figure out how to make it so there can be multiple ones. But this will allow for one lottery game, and I believe it works, I have yet to play test it.

    Bonus mini-game: The Arena
    The object of the Arena is to fight multiple foes without getting creamed untill you defeat enought to reach the champion.

    Arena Manager Script
    Event Branch: Condtion: Val 2+ 0 = 0
    Screen Display: Hello! Welcome to the arena. Do you wish to be a challenger? Only SomeRandomAmount of gold!
    Input Creation: Multiple Choice
    * Yes
    Party: Money: -SomeRandomAmount G
    Alright. Go get that 'em!
    Event battle: Challenge1-Very easy to defeat monster

    Wuss. (Whatever you want here)

    Screen Display: Good battle, I guess.
    Screen Display: That was too easy. How about taking on a monster that can actually put up a fight?

    What can't take the pressure? Wimp!

    Event Branch: Condtion: Val 2+ 0 = 2

    Screen Display: But if you really want to sweat, take on these combatants!

    Event Battle: Challenge 3- Normal to defeat monster

    What,can't take the pressure? Wimp!

    Screen Display: You may be able to take the former champ! Whadd'ya say?

    Event Battle: Challenge 4- Hard to defeat monster

    *No
    Fine. Be boring. I don't care.

    Event Branch: Condition: Val2+ 0= 4
    Screen display: That was beautiful!
    Screen display: Now, are you ready to take the champ?
    *Yes
    Don't come back unless you're a champ, okay?
    Event Battle: Challenge 5- Very hard to defeat monster
    Var 2+ 1
    *No
    If you need more time to prepare....

    Event Branch: Condition: Val2+ 0= 5
    Screen display: There's the champ!
    Sound: Clapping
    Screen display: Want to face the now dethroned champ to make him remeber who is boss?
    *Yes
    Alright! The champ reliven' 'is glory days!
    Event Battle: Challenge 5- Very hard to defeat monster
    *No
    That's fine. Do whatever! You're the champ!
    Sound: Clapping


    Tell me if these script ideas help, because I haven't tested them. Have fun with the mini-games!
