I think the mayans just realised they didnt need a calendar that went so far in time and just picked a date and ended it, and through that one action people are calling for the end of the world.
I believe it's December 12th around five in the morning.
What Time Zone were the Mayan's in because at no point will it be that time all across the world.
But I don't believe in this anyways. I wrote something on this in my blog awhile ago.

That is the end of the Mayan calender. Now this is confusing to me. I was reading an article about it online and I barely understood any of it. I don't pretend to be a genius, I didn't understand ****. But I did get one thing -
"According to the Mayans, there will be a b'ak'tun ending in 2012, a significant event being the end of the 13th 400 year period, but not the end of the world."
There you have it. And who knows how significant this event is? Could be nukes, could be everybody finds a penny on the sidewalk that day. Who the **** knows? But it's not the end of the world.
I expect the days approaching this date will be like the 6/6/06 bull**** last summer. A small bunch of people really thought it was the apocalypse, nothing happened.
And why are people listening to the Mayans? They sacrificed each other to the sun! That's Darwin in action!
