I FEEL LIKE I'M GIVING BIRTH

I've had kidney stones in the past, I don't know why honestly I'm only 20 but it runs in the family. But none of those could compare to this one.

I woke up at 7am today with an unbearable pain in the side of my stommach. I felt like someone stabbed me in my left kidney and was twisting the knife around. Then the pain started to move. I had to go to the emergency room and get some pain killers because it was so bad. I had to even drive myself too. It was awful. Easily the most pain I've ever been in my life.

So by 10:00 the pain started to go down thanks to the moraphine and they did a cat scan.

I've got 3 of them one of the way to the bladder and the other two just chilling there in my kidneys. The two that are dormant the doctor said he doesn't know if they are going to cause me problems now so I'm just dealing with one essentially. I haven't passed it yet but oh boy will it be fun when I do. Just having one move from my kidney to my bladder hurt like hell, I can't wait for me to actually pee it out.

I'm fine now, but damn.

Getting old sucks kids.

My youngest brother has a kidney stone right now, and was probably in as much pain as you were a week ago. He hasn't passed it yet, but they gave him painkillers. I think he's going to have to have it crushed.

BTW - if you drink a lot of cola or other brown sodas, STOP. Something in those causes kidney stones.

Nothing so far today.

I do have a lot of Dr. Pepper, and whenever I drink Captian Coke is my drink of choice.

Damn you soda.

I've yet to experience the kidney stone. *knock on wood* In fact, I've been very lucky healthwise, especially considering I don't bother with my health. Only times I've been to the hospital were for a tetanus shot, which really wasn't necessary, and for a stress fracture.

I hope your stones pass a lot quicker than the Rolling Stones, Toasty.

I got them last year.

They told me it was because I was drinking too much soda and the carbination was causeing calcium to peel off my bones and acumilate in the kidneys.

So... maybe you should cut back on the Mr. Pibb, Toaster.

I mostly drink mountain dew ripoff's and a lot of tea. Not too much brown soda's.
I don't have any kidney stones yet and I hope it stays that way.

Its okay to drink the dark sodas, you just have to drink them in moderation, and drink tons and tons of water. I can drink 1 soda a day and be fine.

If any of you remember, back in 2005 i had kidney stones that got stuck, and put me in the hospital, and at one point i stopped breathing because they had to load me up on pain medicine to keep me sedated. And once i woke up, i was vomiting for the next 4 hours.

DONT GET KIDNEY STONES, THEY ARENT FUN!

There is something that they can give you to help break up the stones, but i have no idea what it was.
