T-This can't be happening! GBA still has some life to it!

Okay, now that the melodrama is aside, I think Target is making a big mistake.

Why? it's a dead system. It was kept on life-support by Square for a while, but it's dead and has been obsolete since the DS came into play.

Didn't it out-sell the DS and PSP for over a year when they both came out?

Metroid II and Link's Awakening are the only reason I still have mine.
            ...and that's why.

I never use my GBA anymore. If I want to play GB/C games I just use my Gamecube.

And Nintendo said the DS was not a succesor to the GBA...

I should get an SP. DS can't play Game Boy Color games, and I swear the GBC screen is easier to read than the GBA screen. Of course, I wouldn't need it unless I went on a trip - there's always Pokemon Stadium.

Re: Target Discontinues Game Boy Advance

I still have my Game Boy Advance SP. I keep it around whenever I feel like playing my old school Game Boy games.

A shame that the DS can't play them though, but I'm not complaining.

Too bad the GBA is being discontinued. But I'm not surprised. Nobody buys the thing anymore. Obviously, they'd rather get the DS. And you can't find old Game Boy games unless you're an EBay shopper or like scrounging around in smaller game stores that still sell them.

I thought the GBA was selling more than the PS3?

it routinely does outsell the PS3.
This will probably put an end to that.

It wasnt supposed to be originally.

I went to Wal-Mart last week, and I saw "Shrek the Third" for the GBA. How is that considered dead? However, I do agree with you partially on that statement.

I still have my SP to fall on as well when I want to play the old school games.

Because it has "Shrek the Third"

Commercial games like Shrek, just don't count.

There is no reason to keep the GBA alive when developers can just develop for the DS, not to mention the DS plays GBA games.
