    Anyone remember that impossible challange in FF9?

    I'm on my way playing through Final Fantasy IX and I start to remember that there was a certian missable item in the game, "Excalibur II". In order to get the elusive Excalibur II you had to get to the end of the game, Disc 4, in under 12 hours.

    Seriously?

    Apparently it can be done. And you can *still* make a perfect file to boot.

    So what's the most ridicilous thing you've accomplished or tried doing in a videogame?

    100% speed run in Metroid Zero Mission.

    I got close too, right up to the Gravity Suit, but then the game file got deleted somehow.
    ...and that's why.

      I rapped COOL in every stage in Parappa the Rapper.

        I did the same in PaRappa and Lammy.

        I once got one of my Suezos in a couple of Monster Rancher games to 999 in every stat. It was very laborous, but worth it.

            I made a serious attempt at getting Excalibur II a few months ago, but I got busy with other games.

            Will probably try again in the near future.

                What is the point? I mean with the first one, you got that move that does 99999 points and since that is the highest number, it just doesn't make sense to get the second one.

                  Giving Rick all my rare metals for many files in a row in Harvest Moon 64 just to find out that secret was a fake a few years later. Wasting hundreds of thousands of G's in Harvest Moon, I think thats pretty hardcore. I think Rick himself made up that hoax so he could sell the damn things.

                    Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

                    Racing Dampe's Ghost to get the Piece of Heart. Under 1:00 minute. Dodging his fireballs.

                    Took me a gazillion tries, and I was literally going to throw my controller across the room and break it. Finally got that Piece of Heart. I hope never to do that again.

                        hard thing i did was beating ff9, god that game needed work. the chocobo hot and cold was the best part about it.

                        beat it in under 12 hours? not realy worth it just to get some wacked item.

                          I haven't even beaten the Weapons in FF7. Super hard stuff isn't fun so I don't do it.
                          The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

                            I've tried several times to get Excalibur 2. The shortest time I could get to that point was was 13 hours 28 minutes. That is when I said it was completely impossible and gave up. How the hell can you even enjoy the damn game if you are in a race the whole ****ing time!?

                              I finished one of those ridiculous low% speedruns on Super Metroid. It took me like a month to kill Ridley with only one energy tank.
