    Fixing things by hitting them

So I'm here at work typing and my iPod suddenly dies. I'm like, "****, this is the THIRD time." Fed up, I start smacking it. Lo, it comes back to life. Thank god, now I can listen to "Come On Eileen."

Have you fixed anything by giving it a good smack upside the head?

This also worked with the old-stlye NES (but not for long) and a Gamecube controller recently. Those Gamecube controllers are not very good.

I have little tolerance for things that refuse to fulfill their purpose. They often end up being obliterated. But we did have an old NES that would screw up the graphics on certain games. A very light tap on the right hand side of the box fixed that issue 85% of the time.

What do you say to Funk when he has two black eyes? Nothing you already told him twice!
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

Hitting is generally counterproductive for me, except when it comes to this industrial-size flashlight. Every time I turn it on the switch gets stuck and I have to hit it against things (generally myself, it's one thing I know won't break [it or the flashlight]) to get it to urn on.
