Does anyone here besides me to origami? I suppose a lot of you do, but I was wondering if anyone is really into it as I am. I've been doing Origami since I was very young, and can make a lot of different pieces. I've done Geo-gami, minimalist Origami, modern origami and traditional origami.
I recently got a book on Geo-gami, and some of the stuff you can create is pretty sweet. If any of you are interested I can give you some links or post some pictures.

You know, I have tried to make Origami myself, but I can't even make the decent crane. :(
It's a very interesting art form. A lot of people make a living making Origami. And you won't believe some of the things that can be made with only a few pieces of square paper.
You should post some of the stuff you've done. :)

Yeah, I was considering doing that, I've probably made over 200 cranes in my life :lol Only because when I was young I would make cranes out of napkins at restaurants while waiting for the food.
I'll go through some of my creations and post them :)

Can you make cranes... ONE-HANDED!?
Cause I can't.

Alright, here are some pictures of old (and new) origami I had lying around my house, most of the origami I make I give away or lose, so this isn't near all of it.

These are Hexahedrons, they have 6 sides, I don't know why I made two sides blue :/

This is the traditional Cicada from Japan, It's incredibly easy to make, and i made it a few months ago when I was showing someone else how to do origami. The Cicada is a bug, in case you didn't know.

One of my favorite geo-gami's, the Irregular Hexadecahedron with Triangular Openings (gasp), it was hard to take a picture of it because it has so many sides. Overall a very cool piece of Origami.

Another older one I made while teaching someone else how to make Origami. It's the Kabuto, or the Samurai helmet. Very old, traditional design.

Here's the crane, it's made out of hologram paper. I've literally made hundreds of these. I've never tried making one with one hand, I'll have to give it a try ;)

Another geo-gami, the X-Cube. Yes, it has staples in it, and yes, origami can use staples, tape, etc. Everyone asks me if I "cheated". I didn't.

All of them. The pencil is included so you can see how big they are.

The Kabuto is my favorite so far. Clean and neat. Looks good Phoenix. It would be great to see other creations you have made with Origami.

Yeah, I'l post some more as I uncover/make them. I just found a penguin and a swan, but I'll post them later when I get some more. Next time I'll use better camera settings too, I accidentally had it bumped down so I could take more pictures =P

Well, now, those are very good!
I can't make a decent paper airplane, and yet look what you can do. :)
I've a Kabuto near me too! I'm terrible at origami though and mine doesn't look nearly as good.
Cheater.
the Irregular Hexadecahedron with Triangular Openings is cool.

Cheater? You mean with the staples? Like I said, Origami can use staples >_> It can go without them but people kept picking it up wrong and breaking it so I just reinforced it with some staples.

I'm a fan of origami, I make some here and there but it for other purposes. My girlfriend gets origami upon ocasion form work and is all impressed so when I go up there I leave what origami I can. Usuially just a bowtie or a ring or a jet or something of that nature and her coworkers almost squeel in delight. Though I forgot how to make a crane, I tried for almost an hour last week sitting there as I ate some pizza and drank my soda to figure it out and I thought I had it 4 times. Though each time was a failure so I just maed a fortune teller out of the dollar instead, but I think a crane would have been alot nicer to leave. Any good places as to where I can get some instructions to make some leet origami? I'm also a fan of your cicada, it was pretty cool.

It's not as easy as you mightthink, at least, not to my knowledge. The reason being is because most Origami is published in books and kits and would have to be pirated to be online. I'm sure you can find older, traditional origami online though, origami that isn't copyrighted.

Good point, I'd have to agree most of my oragami skills were from a book and alot of pratice, and the more I think the more I've never seen any on the net that wasn't an e-book.
