    Game Opinion

I'm looking for a new game. I'm thinking of getting either Rogue Galaxy or Tales of Abyss.
I was wondering if anyone played either one and what they thought, or could recommend some other game.

A lot of people like Rouge Galaxy but it's inspied storytelling drove me away. It's got a big item creation system and monster hunting sidequest, lots to do. If you're into that sort of thing, you'll probibly like it.

Rogue Galaxy's a good game, and a good choice. The story isn't anything new, but there are a lot of interesting characters. There's quite a bit to do in the game, too. And it's made by Level-5. Level-5 makes good games.

I haven't played Tales of the Abyss, so I don't know how good it is. Vonwert might know, though!

I've played both. Rogue Galaxy: the gameplay is pretty good, but the story is literally the most generic RPG piece of junk story EVER. They throw pretty much every cliche in the book in it. Keep in mind that it's also more of a dungeon crawler than an actual RPG. Still, the gameplay is pretty nice and fun and it can be challenging.

Tales of Abyss: I like it. It also suffers from some of the cliche problems, but I kind of like some of the twists that the plot goes through. The gameplay is also pretty solid. Both are nice looking games. The real question is are you a fan of Tales games?

If you had to choose between the two, I'd ask if you were looking for something more actiony, in which case I'd argue in favor of Rogue Galaxy, or something closer to an RPG, in which case I'd go for Tales of the Abyss.

But seriously, if cliche plots make you hurt, then I'd say that's a vote in favor of ToA. You'll still hurt, but not anywhere near as much.

The Tales of the Abysis is one of the best Tales games. I really enjoyed it and it will deftinally keep you busy for over 100 hours if you decide to do all the subquests.

It has a lot better characters than Rogue Galaxy.

See, Blackberry? Trust Vonwert. He knows all.

Then it's safe to say that either game is a good choice.

Well I wouldn't go that far

But Rogue Galaxy is very fun addicting, up to when you finally upgrade all the weapons. Then it is just a rush to finish the overly stale story. But you should be far enough in the story that it won't be such a pain.

Hmmmm. I really like the Tales games that I played and stale game plots make it unbearable for me to get through a game. I think I'll go with ToA.
                Thanks everybody.

tales of the abyss has a freaking horrid fps problem when on the field, and that made me give up on it before it even began. and im a HUGE tales fan. but whenever i swung the camera around the game would pause or stutter.

I say buy Planescape: Torment and be pleasantly surprised.

But out of those two I'd say rogue galaxy I guess.

I'd recommend Rogue Galaxy. It's a lot like Dark Cloud except not as imaginative. They tried so hard for it to be but it's just not. It's pride and joy is the weapon customization, but I hit a wall after finishing my first three characters and taking a week off for finals.

As for the Tales series I liked Tales of Destiny but then they started pumping a new game out every week and I kindly told them to **** off.

I think I'll just save my money for Guitar Hero 3.
