That only leaves the present...

Re: Biggest VG Trend That Needs to Die?
Are you serious or just being sarcastic?I personally feel that the text-based genre has not be tapped to its fullest potential.
Because there's a huge text game (or interactive fiction as us geeks in the know like to call it) community that constantly puts out new, inventive, and progressive games all the time. Some of them really redefining what a "game" can be.
I can clue you in if your interested.Last edited by Loki; 05-25-2007, 01:14 AM.

Re: Biggest VG Trend That Needs to Die?
Like most things in life Wikipedia is a good place to start.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interactive_Fiction
I gives a pretty compleate history of the medium but the real interesting things start happening in "The Modern Era."
I really recomend "Photopia" if you're new to the medium. It's not much as a game (it's easy and linear) but it's quite the experiance. It's about ten years old at this point but it was released at the time people where getting away from text adventures (puzzles and quests) and starting to experiment with what interactive fiction can really do. It's real nice.
