    Mario Party 8??

It's supposed to come out sometime next week, and I mentioned in the past that I had some interest in it.

I liked the older Mario Party games, but this one you get to use the Wii remote. And considering the multitude of mini-games, they go together like peanut butter and jelly. I am considering reserving it, or just buying a copy in the future.

Anyone else looking forward to it? It's just something to tide me over until ... Pokemon Battle Revolution.

I thought about getting it too, but since i dont want to take my Wii back upstairs so i could play multiplayer stuff, i'll pass on it...so my next game is also Pokemon Battle Revolution.

Kids and their Pokemon these days.

      *sigh*

But yeah since I'm sure Mario Party 4-7 are still full price new, I'll probably end up getting this when I get a Wii in about 3 to 4 months.

I dont like mario party games, and I won't buy anything that will possibly lead to the creation of yet MORE MINIGAME CRAP for the Wii.

I always like Mario Party games so I will be getting this one, but I do assume it will be very similar to other games like Wario Ware. Or, even more so like the party board games in Sonic for Wii.

I might get it after I get Mario Party 7.

My favorite Party was 3. Some really good mini games and what I know as the "golden age" of Mario Party items (though the "trap" stuff in 6 is pretty good).

How was the alleged Mario Party Advance or Mario Party E (I think those exist)?

Mario Party Advance was okay, but not in the vein of the 'Cube and 64 incarnations. It just doesn't share in the experience of the console versions. But at least it was portable, though.

One thing I like about the Mario Party games was that it was something you can play with a group of friends. It's going to be a wild party with me and three friends all using Wiimotes and moving all crazy-like.

Well Mario Party 8 was 100% sure to show up. It just SCREAMS Wii. But mini-game crap is becoming a trend. Sure it's fun, once in a while. But it's like making the next Madden game or Mega-Man game. It's cheap, fast to make, no story needed, no writers needed, etc.

Just a mass of little games all in one package.

I'm guessing the reason why we're seeing so many mini-game themed games for the Wii these days is that they make so good use of the Wii Remote.

Rayman Raving Rabbids is a REALLY good example of how effective the Wii Remote and Nunchuck can be.

I've been ignoring the Mario Party series since the fourth title, since my Gamecube was more of a "me" system for me by then. However, due to my far greater multiplayer time these days with the penis machine, I'm definitely going to get this.

They should have a Mario Party that contains some of the best maps and mini-games from the other Parties.

Reminds me of what this one website said, 2/3s the way down:

Still, Konami is tainted by this economy; it's guilty of Mega Manizing its fine series [Castlevania]. That is, it's intent on pumping out title after title in short periods of time, and the result is that conventions and ideas become second nature--they're thrown out the window in a constant attempt to capitalize on the series' aura while it still can instead of building it back up to greatness through actually thinking.

They've inadvertently linked my two favorite series, and not in a good way. "What's the rush?" I ask. There are too many games when it would serve the consumer well to spread their respective releases years apart. I'm not made of money, and that shouldn't mean that I'm not allowed to keep up.
Oh, this is the website, if anyone wanted to know:

                        I can't believe they got to 8.

Although I, too, would like a game with actual substance on the Wii some time soon, I don't doubt that the series has a chance to redeem itself with the new control scheme.

                        I mean, it probably won't, but there's a chance

This sounds like a fail-proof party game, and I'll probably get it.

But seriously, 8? I only played the first 64 one, and one on the Gamecube, how did they do 8 of these?

                            Because people are suckers?

I know I wasn't buying 4-7 at full price, especially 2 years after they came out, 1-3 is good enough for me. Though I'll probably get this once I get a Wii as there aren't too many other games I want for it.

Yeah, it's incredible that there are eight Mario party games.

My friend has the entire series, but plays the games by himself mostly. I guess that's okay, seeing how it's pretty decent as a single-player game.

But it's a lot more fun with friends.

Okay, I've decided to pick this up! I'm not only buying it for me, but for my friends. We're going to plan a get-together next weekend and play it with four-Wiimotes. You can imagine the craziness that will ensue--nothing like with regular controllers!
