My Mission is Complete: I Have Mega Man IV and V

I got this baby in the mail today. I was lucky enough to see an Ebay bid on it with free shipping. I won the bid at 15 bucks. When I started playing it, I already had some positives and negatives for the games. For the positive aspects, I really like how Nintendo makes each Mega Man distinctly different from the last creation to give it a sense of "freshness." The new addition of collecting P chips (needed to get items, like energy tanks) really isn't my cup of tea, but it's an interesting concept nonetheless. The thing I dislike most about Mega Man IV is the recoil that happens when you shoot your fully charged Mega Buster. I don't know who in Nintendo development thought of this idea, but it is completely stupid. I never recoiled in Mega Man III, so why this one? The gameplay is really challenging, and I can see myself committing a whole summer to just beating this thing.

I also got this game today, with the aid of Ixzion. He found it at a Game Stop for 20 bucks, and he got it for me as an early birthday present. For starters, the damned recoil when you shoot your Mega Buster is gone, thank God, but in place of that, you get this really cool innovation called the "Power Arm" that lets you shoot a fist at your enemies when fully charged. I really like it. The gameplay difficulty is just about the same for Mega Man IV, which I also find favorable. Still, the collecting of P chips returning to this game wasn't what I wanted, but I knew I had to deal with it. I'll comment on one more thing. The boss selection screen is really impressive. They start you off with the usual four bosses, but the graphics of the enemy's facial shot looks like Nintendo really busted their ass at making a good game, at least from a graphical standpoint.

With these two game boy games received today, I am now finished collecting the Mega Man series for Game Boy. There's no need for me to look for a Nintendo collection, because I helped Ixz complete the series last summer when I bought the ultra-rare, and my personal favorite, Mega Man 5 off of ebay.

I believe you mean "Capcom". Nintendo doesnt make Megaman games.

So is your collection finished? you said you have all the GB and NES games, but what about GBC, GBA, Game Gear, SNES, PS, Saturn, and so-on?

Ah, you got me there, Valk. :P

I had Mega Man Extreme for the GBC, but I hated it, so I sold it to EB....for 4 bucks (I had paid $26).

The only game I want right now Mega Man 7 for the SNES, but I'm not in a rush to get it. Oh, and I loathe the Mega Man Battle Network series.

I hate the battle network series too, but I own all of them anyway (Well, I only get one version of each game). I'd probably enjoy it a lot more if the maps weren't so damn random.

You're quite the collector, Valk. I could just never get into the battle network game, you know? Call me old-fashioned, I suppose.

BTW, I am trying to find X through X3 on the Super Nintendo, as well.

I only got up to BN2, but it's a hot series none the less. Network Transmission was too awesome for words

I saved myself some time by getting MegaMan Anniversary Collection.

                    Nyah.

                      For which system?

I've been meaning to pick that up for a while.

                        Gamecube and PS2.

                        I prefer Gamecube.

But apparently, the best version is the XBox version, which was released quite some time afterwards.

I thought the Gamecube controls were backwards or some jazz?

That would suck. I can't play the Mario Advance games on DS because the controls are flipped. Why can't developers LET you map buttons the way you want 'em?!
