    Ron Paul is the man

Honestly, everything this guy says is the truth. My only gripe with this dude is his policy on his immigration, but for everything else he stands for I'm willing to overlook it.

If you've never heard of him, check this out:

    http://www.newshounds.us/2007/05/16/...hearing_it.php

I'm registering Republican just so I can vote for him in the primaries, but he if he doesn't get the nomination, I'll probably vote Democrat or not at all.

Re: Ron Paul is the man

After Ron Paul was allowed to participate in the debates, he got the largest number of votes on MSNBC and other networks. MSN, Fox News, Yahoo, and the rest conveniently stopped mentioning him as a candidate or including him in polls after that.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjSV7TauO1w

ABC in took his name out of the poll so noone could vote for him as the debate winner.

      http://x011.uploaderx.net/x/ronpaul.gif

The results of the ABC poll with Ron Paul omitted:

The GOP wants Ron Paul barred from future debates as well:

      http://www.thestate.com/166/story/66451.html

MySpace(owned by Murdoch) has even blocked blog entries and blocked accounts that simply put the word "Ron Paul" anywhere within them.

Just as Dean was smeared, so too is it happening to Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, and lots of other candidates. Even if the candidate has the people behind them, if the power elite don't want that candidate in, then they'll do all they can to make sure the candidate has no chance.

      Poor, poor America.

That thing is targeted because it has exact coding of what is possibly what a phished account would post. you are not banned from posting about ron paul.

So there are other phrases that it does the same thing with? If that's the case, it's probably a sort of checksum error.

Well, a lot of myspace accounts get hijacked, and the hijacker then spams with that account using bulletins or comments. That is in place to ban account temporarily or whatever if they post a common spam. Somebody probably spammed that Ron Paul bulletin, and now it's been flagged as a hijacked account post.

Talking about Ron Paul himself is not banned, it's the exact bulletin that guy posted that is incorrectly flagged as spam.

I like this guy but he isn't going to win any popularity contests within the political community.

Re: Ron Paul is the man

Ahh. That explains that. My ignorance of myspace is showing(never used it nor cared for it much).

It's still pretty sobering that he's not even a poll option anymore on the mainstream media polls even though he won both MSNBC post-debate polls, an ABC News poll, and a CSPAN poll.

This guy voted against the PATRIOT Act, against the Homeland Security Act, against the Iraq War, against the REAL ID Act, against the bills requiring Homeland Security approval to leave the country, against Bush's oil-laden energy bills...

I'm not liking any of the running Democrats available at the time, except perhaps Kucinich and a few other minor contenders. Some of the extreme Republicans like Duncan Hunter are especially scary. If someone like Hillary Clinton or Rudy Giuliani gets in, this nation is in for even more dark times... Obama is sort of a wild card. The democrats are trying to prop him up as their puppet candidate. After Obama came out in favor of supporting electric cars and plug-in hybrids back in April, both sides of congress have been trying to bring him down. He looks very easy to scare into behaving as the establishment wishes him too. He's certainly inexperienced and his qualifications pretty much consist of looking like a Will Smith wannabe and being charismatic, but that's still better than 90% of what is currently in our congress(pretty sad). His earlier statements about supporting an airstrike on Iran really irk me.

I like the idea of a bipartisan ticket. I think a Ron Paul/Barack Obama ticket would be pretty interesting, and given what poll data is available from offline and online polls, this would be perhaps the best representation of the will of America's people.

Re: Ron Paul is the man

I actually think I want a Republican canidate. I don't know if this is true but now that we have a democratic senate/house I don't want the president pulling party strings to gain favor in any particular matter. Bush had the republican party all over DC. If we con't have an indipendant DC then at least make the branches of power a little more balanced...

                  Like that'll ever happen...

Re: Ron Paul is the man

Even if the balance was restored to congress, you'd still have two rightwing, conservative parties making all the decisions and supposedly 'representing' the will of a nation possessing a political spectrum orders of magnitude more diverse.

Under Clinton, the telecommunications deregulation Act, NAFTA, the WTO all got through. Under Clinton, a few hundred innocent Muslims were also illegally jailed. Bush simply sped up the sort of 'progress' our business, political, and military elite have in mind...

The Democrats haven't been a real opposition party since the 1970s. In Washington DC, groupthink is the name of the game.

I don't agree w/ everything Ron Paul says, but I give him big props for having the balls to say the things he's been saying on that stage.

I checked the CNN poll for the debate, and Runny is blowing out all the other candidates, LOL. It goes to show you how different and focuse the internet audience is compared to the rest of the country.

And also explains very well why the two major parties want to censor the internet. There was a bill in congress that would have counted even posts in this topic supporting Ron Paul as campaign finance, and his capaign therefore would have been billed for it and a limitation would have been imposed on the amount of 'campaign donations' you could give him(and other candidates), even if it was in the form of discussion...

It hasn't passed, but over the past few years there have been repeated and ever stronger attempts.
