Doesn't really look a whole lot different, though the laser gun is really cool. I just hope it becomes a little more balanced than it looks in the vid. Like a 3 second charge for the power to destroy anything.

Really just looks like more of the same, which isn't too bad since Halo is pretty fun to play, but was hoping for a little more variation.

Oh my god...

That looked BEAUTIFUL!

Glad to see they have the Assault Rifle back. The laser, I think, is to be called the Spartan Laser. Another thing though; the shotgun? Those little blue bits on it? They were like that in Halo 1. But they changed it to green in Halo 2.

I have a hard time seeing any "Next - Gen" graphics. It is a bit more shiny, but that is it.

It will be fun multiplayer, but single player probably be more of the same boring experience.

They're just using Halo 2 models with better lighting for the beta. Or something like that.

And to think, i am SO gonna pass on that Beta. I bought Crackdown because i wanted Crackdown, not for the Halo 3 Beta.

Looks like the exact same game. I couldnt stand Halo 2. It was so friggin boring. It was always a race to the shotgun, sniper rifle, and blade.

Well, i was gonna give this series another chance by wanting to try the beta, but after finding out I needed to own Crapdown every time I wanted to play it, that's no longer an option for me.

I love how the fanboys are the ones to quickly say "ITS SO BEAUTIFUL". Im sorry, but I am unimpressed. If this is next-gen, then I have no hope for the future. Next-Gen should not only apply to graphics, which it clearly isnt in this beta footage, but should also apply to gameplay, which it clearly is not. Same gameplay as the last two...seems they are pulling an EA (add in slightly higher poly count and release it as a new game and call it next-gen). Maybe this will change later once its out of beta, but who knows. Until then: *thumbs down*

Ok, ok. I hate Halo 2 for the record. But people, come on.

First of all, they have added layers of game play just by adding the bubble shield. You cannot shoot out, people cannot shoot in. Great for temporary safety. Also I've seen one new vehicle, and they've found a middle ground between some of the weapons in the first and second games.

As for the graphics, please do note that it is a beta. Most of the polish and pretty comes after beta, while getting the functionality and tech done is up until beta. I for one, do not give dick about the graphics, but I'm sure they will up the ante between now and release which is rumored at August along with that Mountain Dew X-Box. How many months away is that to add pretty and last minute features?

A shielded grenade is not enough of a gameplay addition to say it will revolutionize the whole mechanics of Halo. The bottom line is, its still Halo with an added digit and pretty much the same graphics as the last one. Next-Gen? Not close. Way to make easy money without putting much profits in? Exactly.

Although I love the use of the buzz word Next-Gen, I have to disagree. What more do you want from the game? If you have to reinvent your game every time you make a sequel, you alienate your fan base. Not to mention all of the game's features haven't been revealed. Do you know how to beat single player? Are all the game play mechanics the same? Does co-op work the same? What is everything that they added to this game? If you can answer all of these questions and they are correct come release date, I will rep bomb you so hard it'll make your teeth hurt (if I remember in half a year.)
