Blast from the Past: Ducktales 2

It ran me a pretty penny (35 bucks with shipping), but I finally got this game in the mail today. In comparison to Ducktales 1 (which I can beat in less than 20 minutes on ANY mode), Ducktales 2 plays a bit slower, but it has the advantage of having no time set for each stage. Ducktales 1 was timed, but I had plenty of it to go through the entire stage.

Ducktales also gives you different gizmos that are supposed to help you throughout the game (one items makes you break things you couldn't break with your cane). In my opinion, this new option is pretty lame, because you literally have to beat the stage in a precise order, unlike the first.

The bosses...well, three out of the five were a piece of cake, but two of them actually gave me a run for my money (one boss just throws stuff at you, and you have to wait until rocks fall to the ground; then you have to swing it at him; he breaks apart, then you have to walk over to the body and hit the "little core" that's in the body five time). Honestly, it's time-cosuming.

Sadly, the ending wasn't up to my expectations either, but I don't want to get into that. I'm not regretful for making the purchase, because I carry a classic piece of gaming history, a staple of my childhood. All I have to do is:

Now....getting the other rares, like Bubble Bobble 2, is going to take some work....

My favorite game of that series-type-game was the Game Gear one where you were Donald. I loved that game. I never beat it, but I loved it.

    And nice find.

Definitely. The only other copy they have on ebay has a buy now price of $70 bucks, and that's before you even include shipping details.

EDIT: There are two copies on sale now on ebay. One has a buy now price of 30 bucks plus 3.50 shipping. Ouch.

          Just like these games:

          Bubble Bobble 2
          Bonk's Adventure
          Ninja Gaiden III

These games ARE FREAKING RARE, and are not manufactured anymore. It's most likely due to them being made so late (when the Nintendo system finally began to die). Ducktales 2 was made in 1993, so you can understand what I'm talking about.

I await the day you post a thread saying you got Ninja Gaiden III.

I liked the first Duck Tales game.

I'm so jealous that you own this. I also like the first one more, but they both rock.

Now all you need is the elusive Chip 'n Dale 2.

                      Actually, Nixon...you're right.

And I got it in the mail (sadly, at my home address), on Saturday, so I'm going to have to wait a week before I get a chance to play (since I'm still at the college).

EDIT: It came with Chip and Dale 1 (which I already had), but the both of them ran me about 30 bucks.

That's a real find. It took us a long time to track the second one down.
