    ODIN SPHERE

[had to remove penny arcade pic, it had the f-bomb]

Ok, there IS a topic about this game SOMEWHERE. It's buried and dead already so let's just move on.

Apparently Play magazine gave this game a 10/10, but I couldn't find a review for it. And I don't know how reliable Play is, it could be another GamePro. But a 10/10 is usually means good news.

That looks like it was made by NIS (Disgeae, Atelier Irisis(?), phantom brave, etc).

    Looks fun.
    I love lamp.

      Play tends to gush.

All over the floor. Take their reviews with a gran of salt.

I'll probibly skip this one. Being poor and all I can no longer take chances on "maybes." I only have money for "sure things."

I'm prepared to buy this, so I'll let you all know how awesome or how much of a dissapointment it really is.

You can only imagine how I felt when I played Atelier Iris and Rogue Galaxy.

unfortunatly alot of these companies are paid to promote games that should otherwise be a flop. look for unbias reviews that point out everything truthfuly, rather then an embelished account.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

After watching a gameplay video, I can honestly say that I have no idea what the hell is going on in that game.

Parish is pretty much gushing over this game which makes me definitely consider this game a little more.

So I went into GameStop yesterday and reserved this.

I'm really hoping this is not a dissapointment. My frail heart couldn't take it!

                    Re: ODIN SPHERE

Isn't it out today? How is it? Everything you ever dreamed or is it a dull clunker?

I can only find 3 reviews on Gamerankings.com. 10/10 from Play, natch, and a 6/10 from some site called Worth Playing.

I think I trust Worth Playing.

Love the art style. Not sure about the game, but I might rent it first before I decide to buy it. Looks wonderful, by the way.

Honestly, I think some of the 10's they give out are a little much, but one thing i have learned...What is the point of having a score out of 10 if 1 game a generation gets it? a 10 should go to a game that you believe is the Pinnacle of a game of its type and the most fun you have had in a very long time.

                          Re: ODIN SPHERE

Everyone knows that the only scores are 6-10.

I wish more people would actually scale games correctly though. So an 8/10 wouldn't be considered MOST HORRIBLE GAME EVAR!

                            I know, that irks me!

A game that scores an 8, is NOT A BAD GAME!

                              Re: ODIN SPHERE

I'm going to buy it tomorrow, even though the John Mora inside of me is telling me that I'll just be dissapointed.

                              On a completely different note.

I just recently got back into playing Lunar Knights. I remember you asking how that was Magus. Well, after 13 hours and getting near the end I just can't play it anymore. I was expecting so much more from a Hideo Kojima game. Apparently the original Boktai games were much better but they changed the formula seeming as they did so poorly (especially in the states). Honestly though the only reason I think people ignored Boktai was because of the sun sensor. Go outside to play videogames??? Blasphemy!

Storyline is "ok". The game features spoken dialogue, but not all that often. The only thing you ever really hear is "May the Sun Shine forever in our hearts!". Over and over again.

There are no puzzles, the levels are a point A to point B hack and slash affair. "Puzzles" in this game force you to leave the dungoen, change the climate, and then come back. One dungoen actually requires you to do this four times just to get through it. Then there are these blocks that can be destroyed if you have the right element equipped.

Most of the bosses are push-overs. There are maybe 10 of them total, and half of those are really "sub-bosses" that are the exact same save for being a little stronger and a being a different color.

Leveling up weapons becomes an ardrous chore of buying massive amounts of "Junk Parts" (seriously, you will need 40 of X item sometimes).

But I liked the stylus-controlled shooting battles.

                              So overall?

                              / 5
