Final Fantasy VI. When I missed Shadow on the Floating Continent and didn't wait for him.

That was a pretty big **** up. One that, I'm happy to say, will never occur again and hopefully not be repeated by others.

I remember when I played through Luigi's Mansion around the GC's launch. I managed to get 49 Boos out of 50, thinking the King Boo was the fiftieth. It turned out that this wasn't the case, and it was too late by the time I realised it.

Wasting 30 hours on Xenosaga before realizing it's the worst ****ing thing to ever happen to me...

Until I wasted almost 20 hours on Final Fantasy III DS, the oldest game ever produced.

The only time this ever happens to me is in the Suikoden games.

Oh, and I missed the special weapons like the Zodiac Spear in FFXII, but that didn't bother me all that much.

I accidentally saved my file of Kingdom Hearts II over a friend's who was at 97% overall completion.

              I couldn't help but s******.

I had 108 hours in FFX and was just about to fight Nemesis when I was saving on a friend of mine's account, I overwrote my save.

I got all the characters in Suikoden 2... but not in time to get the best ending.

Also, after endeavoring to save all the Mudokons in Abe's Odyssee, I reached the last section of the game only to discover I missed one in the previous stage.

I've done the Shadow thing too. DIdn't know he could be saved, but after I beat the game the first time, the ending lead me to think he could. Found out later he could so... replay!

Final Fantasy IX, the swordfight. After a good half hour (Not my first marathon-esque attempt) of swinging my stupid sword at Blank over and over again and leaving one or two nobles unimpressed (GAAAAHHHHH), I finally did it. 100 out of 100 Nobles impressed. 10000 gil and a useless moonstone were in my grasp. In my elation, I answered "Yes" to the question, "Do you wish to go again?"

Needless to say, I came very close to breaking something. I mean, come on, why was "Yes" the default answer when you've already done the best you can do?

Somehow I managed to get 100/100 a second time in a row, though. So I suppose it wasn't that bad...

I think I've made my share of mistakes in Final Fantasy VI. A lot of them.

Emperor Gestahl's dinner--when I had to talk to all the soldiers and say the correct responses. If I had been successful, I would have gotten the Charm Bangle and Tintinabar in addition to the other rewards. The agonizing part is--I never figured out where I ****ed up in the responses.

I'm not sure if this one's a big deal, but when I was trying to collect as many Genji Gloves as I could, there was one that I missed, and that was near the beginning of the game. Apparently, I did not realize that you could get one by saying "no" to Banon three times when he asks Terra to "become the last ray of hope". Oops! Another missed opportunity.

The Ragnarok shard in the second half of the game. I chose to make it a sword instead of leaving it as Magicite. Because of that blunder, I was unable to learn Ultima for all my characters, and Ultima's one of the best spells in the game. Terribly useful against Kefka.

Mog's Dances. When I recruited Mog in the second half, I did not know that I skipped out on learning Water Rondo. In the Ruined World, there is no water environment to fight in. Either I forgot about the Serpent Trench in the first half or I was too lazy to make the effort in making the round trip from South Figaro, all the way to Doma, through the Phantom Forest, to Mobliz, through the Serpent Trench......you get the idea.

One time I was playing Tomb Raider 2 and fell to my death and saved the game before I hit the ground. I just wanted to see if they left such a game breaking thing to do in there.

I used to try to beat Resident Evil games without saving. I never actually did it. :P
