    In search of a Wii

Vent topic. Feel free to skip.

I'm tired of it. I'm tired of waiting. Tired of going into umpteenth different stores around here and them always telling me the same story: They're sold out of Wiis. I dunno who to blame. Me for not trying to get one at launch or Nintendo for still not being able to keep up with demand after roughly 4 months of release!I want to get it from EB, or at least a major retailer so i can try and get a warranty. Warranties can be useful, and that was proved to me when I bought a HD FF11 for the PS2. It was a defect, so I had to exchange it.
Another reason why is I have a EB Gift Card that should take the price off of it a bit. I been saving it for just that reason. Even so...

I've had it! I'm sick of waiting to actually find one. The stores usually get a few in when I'm at work and they're bought out in under an hour. It's pitiful. And E-bay is well... overpriced. So!

Maybe Nintendo needs to stop the false advertising about buying Wii's "Would you like to play?" Oh sure... lemme just ask the nice guy if they have any-nope shelf is empty... well then "How can I play sir?" Seriously.

But eh sorry for the rant.... just rather frustrated about it.

      HD FF9 for the PS2.
      ... huh?

anyways, nintendo is cranking the things out as fast as they can. unfortunately, a lot of them are grabbed by scalpers to throw on ebay.
Just look at this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/Nintendo-Wii-w-W...QQcmdZViewItem

See how many Wiis he has in that picture? says he sold 160 of them?

People are using the system as a "get rich quick" scheme, and it's sadly working. So many people are trying to do this that getting enough Wiis to stores for actual customers to buy is going to take a miracle. No matter how many a store gets, a scalper can just use all the money they made selling them on ebay to buy the entire stock.

Last I heard, Nintendo was getting another factory ready to manufacture them, so their productivity may increase soon.

You may just have to resort to getting one off one of those pieces of **** on ebay.

Is it still difficult to find a Wii these days? I'm sure by now Nintendo sent out new shipments and you can easily get one. What the **** is going on?

Well, anyway, Omni.....don't worry--you'll have good fortune and eventually get one. When you do, let's register friend codes.

Nintendo sends out new shipments almost every single week. They dissapear quickly. yay for scalpers.

Re: In search of a Wii

It seems kinda ridiculous for people to STILL have trouble finding one. Yeah, blame it all on the scalpers!

GameStop should put a "limit one per customer" rule in place. That'll stop those scalpers in their tracks.

I was lucky to get mine. The guy at Gamestops was kind enough to hold my name till the next shipment arrived.

Every store does this. but scalpers are smart, they bring friends.

                        @ Maijo and Skylure.

Cool Misty. I will get one eventually, I've wanted one ever since release. I just hope it doesn't take me another 4 months to actually say I own one. Anyway, the stores around here don't really "hold" Wii's for people. I've asked and they simply won't do it. They always tell me the best time to get one is in the morning, like 10am 12pm, but usually I'm at work by then. So really only chance I have to get one is on a morning I'm not working.

And no... I'm not buying anything off those E-bay vultures. So Nyah.

EDIT: And Valk i was talking about the External Hardrive that was sold for the PS2. The one that was sold with Final Fantasy11.

with how hot the Wii can get, thats not really a good idea.

, I don't position it like that, only messing around. I vertically place it next to the 360.
