I was playing through a game made by a friend of mine recently. As I was walking through a field, I came across a land bridge that was blocked off by a group of logs. Knowing I was supposed to somehow eliminate the logs, I decided to try and walk around them instead. I couldn't get around them. No problem so far because I wasn't supposed to get around them, right?
When I was trying to get around them (and thus saw that Red "You can't walk" here symbol), I pressed square to bring up the player's menu to check my items. Immediately after exiting the menu, that grey box explaining that it is impossible to warp to unwalkable areas or areas underwater came up and I was forced to stop the game without a chance to save. I can't explain how frustrating that was!!
This wasn't the fault of the person who made the field either.
So, anyway, for what it's worth, if you're on a field, and you want to check your player's menu, make sure you're not near the areas that are unwalkable.
