Well, heres to hoping they sit on the shelves long enough to go on clearence, then the PS3 would be somewhat affordable.

So PS3 basically just got more expensive.
      ...and that's why.

At least now the fanboys can't argue with the 500$ model...

i feel sad cause i would have bought the 20 gb, just cause it was cheaper. and i dont like crome on my consoles. I know im gonna have to be buying a ps3 sometime late this year cause of mgs4, but dayum. they could have made it orderable or something.
Why does people substitute a 4 letter word with a 5 letter?

          Ill never understand that

          anyways RIP 20GB

Sony just made the 20 GB model to be closer to 360's price. Problem is it was the better of the two packages. Pay $100 for bigger hard drive, wifi, and card readers is kinda useless since you can use other hard drives and USB card readers. They should've built wifi into the 20 gig and only released that.

                !!!

And like Chuck said, it's not really a hard drive issue. You can either get a 20GB model... or a 60GB model with wifi, card readers, and more media slots. That's like saying people like the taste of Big Macs more than Whoppers since it's bought more, even though the Big Mac comes with a new sports car... but of course that has nothing to do with it selling better. Noooo.... nothing at all.

Despite what alot of people think, PS3 is doing pretty well for sales, 3+ million already whereas XBOX 360, that has been out for 12 months longer, has sold little less than 10 million so far

"Due to the overwhelming demand for the 60GB model from both retailers and consumers..."

Your sources may mean 3 million shipped. According to this link Valk posted: http://kotaku.com/gaming/nintendo/ch...ths-249629.php the PS3 sold 1.06 million in it's first four months. It came out towards the end of November, so I'm assuming the first four months means December, January, February, and March. If's April now, and if it's 3 million, that means that the past month has had double the sales of the first four months of it's release (no chance in Hell). And that 1.06 mil is NPD, so they don't lie.

Yes, Sony and Microsoft both consider units shipped as units sold in order to inflate their sales numbers.

NPD considers units sold as units sold, nothing else.

BUT that 3 million number is worldwide. that chart only has US sales.

Point still stands, however, as the numbers show that they outdid the 360.

PS3 is only a failure in the context of its pedigree.
