I dunno if they are insulting him or just giving them away as a joke present...

Yes I'm sure Nintendo is trying to be insulting.

I would find it insulting, but that's because I know what a joke Brain Age really is. Seriously, someone needs to expose that "snake oil."

Yes, Dave's brain obviously needs training having hosted a talk show for years and still staying sharp.

The Journal quotes a recent study by University of Virginia’s Timothy Salthouse that found "little scientific evidence that engagement in mentally stimulating activities alters the rate of mental aging" calling the belief "more of an optimistic hope than an empirical reality."
The news isn't all bad, though. Even though rigorous training fails to halt the rate of decline of our wetware, trained brains do perform trained tasks better, according to the Journal. If, for instance, you were to regularly practice math, you'd be faster with numbers than those who haven't been practicing.
Doesn't work the way it's advertised but it isn't "snake oil" either.

Basically, yes, you will get better at multiplication and the other tasks you train at. It won't sharpen any other part of your thinking though.

Didn't they send Bush Brain Age a while back too? That definitely didn't work.

i doubt even a brain transplant would repair the problem with bush, his is firmly based in his capasity as a person rather then his brain, though he could use a gentle nudge towards brain replacement.

i wish i was so popular that id get free crap.

That was nice of Nintendo to do, I think their letter was just a joke cracked at lettermans expense, since I'm sure hes cracked one on them a few times

I've always admired Letterman's self-depreciating humor. Plus he likes to break stuff. Hopefully he won't throw the DS out his office window, but if he does, I'm sure they'll film it.

And I love the fact that they sent a DS to to his mom.

Did they send wii's to the family of that woman who died in that radio show yet?

                            She wasn't famous enough.

This isn't as funny considering they did the same thing already to Bush. That was classic. For Letterman they could have at least stretched out Trauma Center for the heart stuff he went through a few years back. Or given it to Regis.

I think they should send Phoenix Wright to the Duke Lacrosse team.

DS Lites and Wiis on store shelves would be nice.

If I had known this is what it takes to get something I'd have been an aging comedian a long time ago.
