Re: Keyboard Questions
If it's a MIDI keyboard (i.e., the keyboard itself doesn't have speakers), then yeah, you're going to need software (Cakewalk, Fruityloops, depends on what music you wanna make), a cord (just a simple male/male MIDI cord, probably available at your local radio shack) and a port to plug it into in the computer. Not ALL computers have ports for MIDI; actually, not many do anymore. If you did, you would plug a cord from the MIDI out socket to the computer.
If you're referring to the 2nd socket from left, I'm not sure. Depends on if it's a MIDI keyboard or an actual synthesizer.

Re: Keyboard Questions
Can you make a larger picture (with more detail). It looks like a standard 1/8" stereo pin connection, but not sure if it would be for in (like a cd player or to hook up line out on your computer), or out (to headphones, computer line-in, etc.).
The circular one that is, the others are MIDI, as everyone else has said. I would imagine at radio shack you might also be able to find converters that are MIDI to 1/8" stereo mini pin (what your computer probably uses). Usually only higher end sound cards meant for recording are equipped with MIDI. I know MAudio makes quite a few.Last edited by thetruecoolness; 04-10-2007, 11:26 PM.
