Locks of Love

I don't know how many of you have heard of Locks of Love, let alone have hair long enough... Well here is the official description:

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

If any of you guys/girls have hair longer than 10 inches, you should look into donating. Its a good cause, and a lot of places will even give you a free cut and send the hair in for you.

You look better with short hair anyways. I won't cut my hair...they can make fake synthetic hair if they run out of the real stuff.

When I shaved my head because my hair started thinning (it had been 18 inches long), a few of my friends said I should donate it for this.

I donated 14 inches of my hair recently, to another group called wigs for kids. The only reason I know about them is because one of my profs in college had us do some logo and promotional art advertising projects for random non-profit organizations.

My hair would have to be three or four more inches longer for me to donate it, I have considered maybe donating my hair before. I wouldn't want them to cut a lot off, I look too average with short hair.

My girlfriend wanted to do that but they wouldn't take her hair because it was colored.

What color? They are supposed to accept colored hair, just not bleached or "chemically damaged."
