M is for Manhunt, What they changed

EDIT(9/12/07): IGN reveals what's changed between the pre-cut version and the new.

Gamespot has revealed the storyline through the product page.
An experiment at a secret research facility has gone catastrophically wrong. Daniel Lamb and Leo Kasper are the only surviving subjects. The Pickman Project will stop at nothing to hunt them down and stop the truth from getting out.

Demented screams echo around the dank asylum that has caged you for the last six years. You open your eyes. A white-coated body slumps to the floor through your shaking hands. A bloody syringe slips from your arm. Waves of confusion and paranoia crash over you. You have no idea who you are or how you got here.

The door to your cell is open. One choice. One chance. They took your life. Time to take it back.
Sounds pretty cool but with one problem. Sounds like there won't be a Director whispering sweet killings in your ear this time. That was the best thing about the first game.

The director talking to you is what helped make the first game so freaking cool. The whole theme was to make the best kills for the camera. It was The Running Man, only bloodier.

I thought the stealth and sneaking could have been done better in the first one.

Yeah, that needed work. Also i thought it was stupid to include the use of the headset (that came with socom). The only use was to make noises in it to draw the attention of the other guys.

I thought the point of the headset was to enhance the creepiness of the Director's voice. That's what one of the reviews I read said. I never had a headset so I wouldn't know.

I used the headset, but the one I had was uncomfortable so I didn't wear it for long.

I never could get the voice alert to work right either.

I always wanted to try and play this game again. I rented it and couldn't even get to the first boss fight. It was too hard, I was always getting spotted.

                Manhunt 2 receives AO rating

I won't be surprised if this gets changed, since quite a few stores won’t even carry AO products. But this is the only big name game that I’ve seen with that rating though.

It really is annoying how much stricter and oftentimes idiotic the ESRB is being lately. Ever since the hot coffee thing. This is worse than the aftermath of Janet's wardrobe malfunction.

That's because nanny states are retarded.

The Law & Order game has been pulled in Britain. They used a photo of a toddler murder victim in a background shot and the mother is none too pleased. In other words, ditto what Cutter said.

                          Re: Manhunt 2

Sony and Nintendo recently said that they will not allow any AO game to hit their consoles. So Manhunt 2 has been suspended temporarily citing they need to find other options.

Might be a chance of it still being released if they decide to change the content to mandate an M-Rating.

thats been both companies policies as long as the ESRB has existed. Sega was the same.

I doubt they'll keep the game at AO, they'll try to appeal even though its probably pointless and then they'll cut out some content because as much as that sucks it's better than not releasing the game at all. I wonder if this is affecting the development of No More Heroes.
