I've only played the first two games on PS1, but loved both. But what's cool about this new title is that it includes multiplayer, so you and three other people can sneak around past enemies. Another cool thing is that you can create your own character.

I only got to play the very first Tenchu game for the PSOne. It's like Metal Gear Solid with swords.

I liked the first Tenchu. But I thought they shouldn't have included supernatural element to it.


I even bought Tenchu DS on a whim. I might pick up this new one later on.

ive always thought tenchu was pretty fun. the first one was good, the second one better. the music in the series has always been decent from what i remember, but the draw-in rate for the tenchu psone games were awful. tenchu 2 i had lots of fun with because of the stage/mission creation mode they had. loved that.

I only played Wrath of Heaven on PS2. Liked it very much. I've heard Z is pretty crappy though but that was when it was still in development so it could've changed a lot since then.

The main problem with tenchu games have been the crappy graphics that limit your ability to tell where you're supposed to be going.

So I think a "next gen" tenchu game with good graphics COULD be awesome.

And the dibilitating camera. Glitchy animations. Getting stuck in walls. Annoying ZOMG JAPAN soundtrack. Boring gameplay. Poor-ass presentation. Retarded story (Rikimaru's dead j/k lol).

The first one is a gem of a game. After that I swear they handed the reins over to some chimpanzees or something.

The first game was great, but I found the later games were ridiculously hard. That could also be because I totally lost my patience sometime between and stop trying to be stealthy. I would be the one to blow it for the party and just run in swinging at the enemy.

My favorite thing about Tenchu 2 was the level editior. I made a about a half dozen levels with big jumps and pits all around. One area the floor would start falling down as you stood on it, and you had to jump across each tiny platform to get a scroll. But then after you got it, you had to back track the way you came, so if any floors fell down on the way to the scroll you were SOL.

I love making challenges like that.
