    Pre-played Games

Anyone else hate it when you buy a pre-played game and get home to play it and find that there is no manual.

Just bought Rouge Galaxy and found that there is no manual. I will admit I wasn't paying too much attention when they were scrambling around trying to find the cd.

I don't feel like driving all the way back to ask if they could put a manual in if they even have one. But it still bugs me.

And that annoying sticker they put on the sides annoys the hell out of me. I like to keep the cases in good condition. But those stickers are hard to get off cleanly.

I always, always make sure it has everything before I pay for it. I passed on a bunch of copies of Alundra because they were missing manuals. Lucikly Working Designs printed more of them or something, since later on there was some kind of surge in mint, sealed copies of Alundra.

My PS2 copy of Silent Hill 2 was pre-played (I got it at Gamestop), and the CD has one of those damn blockbuster anti-theft stickers across the front. I didn't notice until I got home, and I don't have a car so going back for a different copy wasn't an option. Eventually I just purchased another copy of SH2 for xbox.

I got my copy of Einhander used for $9.99 at blockbuster, but it doesn't have any stickers on it. The game is missing the manual and it's in the wrong case, but they left the cover.

always check for a manual. always check the conditions of the disc too. also, as far as the stickers go, many gamestops and ebgames are putting non-sticky labels in the spine that just slide out now, and the new yellow tags peel right off, unlike those damn white ones that always left residue. you can always just put some goo-gone on it if it's being a pain in the ass, and it'll fall right off and won't leave residue.

I really can't stress checking the condition of the discs enough. When I first bought Resident Evil Zero, it was new, but they had to use the display box because it was their last copy. the "new" discs were both cracked. I told them to shove them up their lying asses.

I think it's really annoying when you get home and find a sticker on the DISC. Because there's no way to get those off without ruining the game.

Yeah, I'm not sure what kind of person would buy a used game without checking the condition of the disc or asking what the store's return policy is. Anything more than a hairline scratch is grounds for me skipping on a purchase. Although... I bent the rules for Suikoden II. I just wasn't gonna find that game ever again. Ended up working... pretty much.

I'm usually very picky when I buy used games. I always make sure the box is at least in above average condition and that there's ALWAYS a manual that comes with it. Sometimes, games are sold without the original box--they put the games in some trashy makeshift case that looks as if you're renting the thing from a video store. Don't let them play you like that when you buy used. Sure, it saves you money, but at the very least, you should get the complete package- manual, case, and all.

I don't mind if the manual is ****ed up a little, but at least I want the manual.

And MOST important of all--make sure the disc works!

i hate that stupid sticker they put on the side, the glue is the strongest sticky substance known to man and it always leaves something behind. i am finiky about keeping games in good condition, including all things. i also wont buy a game unless it comes with a manual, but ive been duped a few times.

often times the manuals arnt very useful, but its when you absolutely need it that it isnt included

whats with that crap box and case? its better it was in a plain container or without any at all.

getting crap disks is an immidate trip back to return it.

yep, as long as the game isnt shrinkwrapped (because that would mean the disc is still untouched), you should always say "let me check the disc". they have to let you do it, unless you have nails taped to your hands or something.

                            Re: Pre-played Games

I hate not getting a manual with games even though I almost never read the manual anyway. Then when you let somebody borrow a game and they lose the manual. Ugh! But now GameStop and EB seem to have 80% of thier used games in generic DVD cases with those stupid inserts with some lame cartoon gamers. The titles written on in marker and half the time it looks like somebody wrote it with their foot or something. GameFly seems like a good choice for buying used games. They guarantee to always include the manual and case. And they tend to be cheaper than GS/EB.

And why is GameStop always $5-10 more expensive with their new games than regular stores like Best Buy and Target?
I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty!

After I got burned once, I always check the discs. I'm mostly concerned about the game itself. A lot of modern game manuals are useless.
