I had an SDTV. Dead Rising was still blurry and hard to read.

Then I bought an HDTV. Dead Rising is now one of the most beautiful things my eyes have ever seen.

I dont have a 360 yet(theres a yet there) so Im just trying to make conversation

Im sure downsampling on a game made for hi-def is bad for text, I was just interested to see how many other games have problems similar to this, I dont want to have to buy a 360 only to turn around and buy a HDTV

capcom is the only company sadistic enough to require HDTVs so far.

they fixed lost planet before it's release, and they said they would fix dead rising too, but then they turned around and said no.

in an interview they excused it by saying "if you have a 360, you need an HDTV"

Ive got Dead Rising, and its fun, but Im refusing to play it until someday when I have an HDTV.

I cant read dick all, and dont know where Im supposed to go or why, and it made me angry to no end.

It just depends on the size of your TV. I have a 30 inch regular CRT TV, and I can see it pretty well. I wouldn't want to try and read it on anything smaller though.

Yeah I kind of get where the guy is coming from, but it's not correct. When you make an image for a large screen, then downsample it for a smaller screen it does not gain quality. If it wasn't high quality to begin with, then yeah it looks better on a smaller screen. People see this all the time when they full screen Youtube videos. So while he may be right that the ratio is better, things that are smaller than 4 pixels get completely wiped out in a downsample. Plus text is going to look like crap. Ever tried to play a PC game on your TV, even through SVideo. You're lucky if you can read the 24 pt text. So something shown at computer level resolutions does not look better on a smaller less capable screen. Now with component hookups it won't look much worse (besides text and far away objects), but certainly not better.

As for reading the text, on the demo of Dead Rising that my friend brought over a while ago I didn't have much problem on a 27" TV with component hookups. But I bet it would have looked crisper on a HDTV.

I wish I had an HDTV, but right now, I'm cool with my ancient Apex television. I do hope someday I can take advantage of the wide-screen format for Twilight Princess though.
