    NetSmartz & Webby

Recently, the NetSmartz Workshop was nominated for a Webby award. The NetSmartz Workshop is an interactive educational site that helps teach younger people Net safety, protecting them from the ever-so-abundant Inraweb dangers nowadays. Many people have been volunteering in making stuff on that site , including Mohammad Haque of Applegeeks fame.

Anyway, they're having trouble against Google, which is also a nominee. Google.

Quite a few of you could care less, I know, but just the same I ask you to go over there, register (takes less than a minute), click on the drop-down bar with all the nominated site names and vote for NetSmartz. Think of the children!!!

EDIT: Whoops! Forgot the link: http://pv.webbyawards.com/

The thing about that is that you see, if google is a threat to them and is likely going to win, google deserves to win. That's the way this awards system is supposed to work. If NetSmartz want to win this thing, they should try harder to stand apart from the millions of programs identical to them, as opposed to guilting people into voting for them.

If you can convince me to vote for them over any other site, then I will.

      See for yourself: http://www.netsmartzkids.org/

Ah, and furthermore, they aren't "guilting people into voting for them". I did this of my own accord. The "think of the children!!!" thing I mentioned at the very end was a joke I threw in.

I can find anything with Yahoo that I can find with Google.

What is it about Google that's so great, aside from its name and simple interface?

Google just pioneered the spider site tracking system thing, or whatever it's called.

And I just use Google to fight Yahoo!

Google sucks. It hasn't found me a decent picture of Mike Nelson to use in my avatar. Feh.

That goes without saying if you aren't a pre-teen/early teen. It's the concept that counts.

Well, Google became what Yahoo! should have been, and Yahoo! became what MSN used to be.
