Sonic...is Heaven

Sorry, folks, I'm not referring to the hedgehog, but to the recent food chain I've been seeing so many commercials about. You know: "It's not just good; it's SONIC good."

I was really curious to see if the commercial could back up their words with the food they produced, and having finally built a chain near my home (it's a good fifteen minute drive to Colonial Heights), I went there to test my curious taste buds. I ordered the number two (Super Sonic Burger), and let me tell you: the commercials do not lie! I ordered the food and got it super fast (less than 6 minutes). Then,I took a bite from my sandwich and I instantly felt like it was one of the greatest foods on the face of this planet. I don't go there much mainly because 1. I have no car, and 2. It's mighty expensive to be eating that type of food.

If you've been to Sonic, and had the same experience I had, please feel free to share.

Sonic's not that new to the country. They've been in my area most of my life. I enjoy their corn dogs, Frito Chili Cheese Wraps and onion rings. But... they're really not that expensive.

Sonic is based out of Oklahoma and is kinda a regional thing even though they advertise nationally.

I used to work at one. I hate Sonic now That's my Sonic experience.

Sonic's not that new to the country. They've been in my area most of my life. I enjoy their corn dogs, Frito Chili Cheese Wraps and onion rings. But... they're really not that expensive.

How about we compare Sonic to Fuddruckers? I rest my case.

How is Sonic anything like Fuddruckers except for the fact they both sell burgers? Sonic's a drive-in, Fuddruckers is a sit-down restaurant.

Speaking of onion rings, I saw a coworker drop then pick some freshly cooked ones off the floor once and bag them because he didn't want to wait the minute forty five it takes to fry them.

Not saying its common practice or anything...but...you know, there's a reason they taste so good.

And fyi, they're not prepackaged or anything, we actually made them in shop. We'd skin the onions, cut them, seperate them, dip them in a pancake'esque batter, roll them around and cover them in breading, dip them again, then cover them in some sort of crumbing agent.

It sucked having to get there at 6am and start on that but they smelled good.

Every fast food restaurant does that at some point in time, it's just a matter of luck. I for one am sad that there are no nearby Sonic drive-through. I LOVE the Frito Burritos that Mora mentioned.

I've not been to Sonic's, but I have been to Ruddf--....I mean, FUDDRUCKERS...(almost mixed that up, and that would have been BAD.) Really good food.

I've also been to Tommy's--home of the chili-burgers. I just love those artery-clogging things......

The Sonic I used to work at is about a minute away and its drive through is open 24 hours a day.

When I was in high school, a bunch of us got written up when we were talking about this restaurant because the teacher thought we were saying a dirty word. Even when one guy wore a T-Shirt advertising the restaurant to class, she still didn't believe us.


I love Sonic's chilli-cheese hot dogs. That's the only thing I order every time I go there.

I never once served anyone anything that had been dropped on the floor in the times I've worked in fast food. And I never saw anyone else do it, either. Hopefully JvrLopez's story is the extreme exception.
