God I hate going to the hospital.

So I had to go to the hospital because of some boils on my ass. Which by the way you never EVER want to have. Seriously, unbelievably painful. Anyway, had to wait 3 and a half hours to get in and get some medication all the while squirming in my seat trying to stay comfortable and getting awkward looks from everyone in the room. Finally I get called into the doctors room.

So I get in there and i'm pacing back and forth for what seemed like 40 min because I cant sit down anymore. He comes in I drop my pants and within 3 min I have my prescription and i'm outta there.

4 hours of waiting for 3 min? This is why I dont go to get help unless i'm in serious trouble. I've had these boils for a month before actually doing anything about it, besides taking 8 extra strentgh aspirins a day, so i'm pretty sure if anything really serious comes up i'm probably gonna die because i'll be too stubborn to go through that hassle.

That sounds like the ER situation here in the US. You usually have to be dying and/or bleeding all over the place in order to see an ER doc quickly, and even then you might be waiting for a while.

I once waited 2 hours and 45 minutes for a flu check up at the university clinic. I had my game boy so I didn't notice how much time had passed.

Armor...I think you should worry more about tha hefty bill they place on you...even if you have good insurance.

I know, because I've been in the hospital 3 times within the last 8 months (two for asthma and one for pnemonia) and when the bill came....I was in total shock. They freaking charge you twice...one for the physician, and one for some other expense I don't even want to mention.

I once had a really bad cut on my left hand that narrowly missed my wrist when I was younger, and I almost bled to death. My dad took me to the hospital and I had to wait 2 hours for the doctors to call me to an operating table so I can get them stitched up.

I could have gotten gangrene if I had waited longer.

its not so wonderous. wait times are exceptionaly high here and theirs such a big shortage of doctors that it takes a LONG time to be able to see anyone. er is always the best bet but you probaly already died waiting.

i avoid the hospital like the plauge. i only go when i am seriously worried about my health and even then only after ive had problems for months. our taxes over compensate for healthcare, so we pay tax even on our tax.

I'd like to say that the wait time at my hospital is a lot shorter but it isn't. I was there the last two days because I had a miscarrige scare and it took them over 24 hours to tell me I was ok. But hey, at least it was free.

I remember when I had a appendicitis. That was a lot of waiting time right there. Plus the aching stomach didn't help either.
