My first game I am making for RPGM1 will be...

A Dective Lavere Mystery "We Built This City On Rock And Roll"

Basically a short little murder mystery game, where you look at the clues and try to solve the case.

Then my second game will be a pirate based game.

There will be treasure caves, where you have to get pass different types of puzzles and booby traps to find treasure.

There will be even side-scroller moments and plenty of open sea exploring.

Not quite certain on the story details yet, but I will post them when I do.

*Insert Title Here*

Noone's having an RPGMaker 1 revival without me.

I can't tell you a lot yet, but I'll be cooking up a short, quirky, linear adventure with custom graphics.

Story summary: I'm retweaking the story...so, I'll update later, sorry...I kind of had a renaissance of sorts for this project...

but I do have like 50 hours in RPG Maker already

I don't talk about my game much outside of my forum at the Mag, as it's not totally official. I have to see if I can get this CBS working first. So difficult. It'd be easier if I wasn't trying to create something so complicated. (Creating the CBS in JH was a cakewalk compared to this.) I'll create the game with or without a CBS, but I can't talk about the game much when I don't know what it's going to have.

Here's a taste of what I've got so far. This could change dramatically by the time the game's released, but for the sake of contributing to the topic, I'll throw it in here anyway:

Title:
Harry has a Head or Harry's Head (undecided - preference?)

Genre:
Comedy, Head-Based Strategy

Summary:
Harry and his girlfriend are both part of a family-operated crime syndicate. One night, while trying to rob the [insert amusing place to rob here], some complications arise, and Harry’s girlfriend’s head falls off. Harry escapes with the head, but as a twitch reaction, the body runs chaotically out of the building and disappears. The bad news (aside from the decapitation) is that Harry's girlfriend had already stashed the loot in her pocket. It's up to Harry to recover the money, find out why his girlfriend’s head fell off, and somehow get the thing to shut the hell up.

Gameplay:
Clearly, the head plays a large role in the game, and Harry's use/abuse of this head will be common when solving puzzles. Another large portion of the action will be based on the different characters in the gang, and solving different puzzles with their different personalities/abilities. Think along the lines of Maniac Mansion for the NES.

That's all I've got for now. If you've got any suggestions about the game, especially good ways to abuse a head, please let me know. :)

Thanks! I just went out today and bought a PSone, mini-PSone-screen, and 9 memory cards. Time to kiss my semester goodbye.

Also, my old dex drive is MIA, but I just ordered a new one for 8 bucks at amazon.com (in case anyone's looking for one. CHEAP).

Czechs you're nuts. :)
I have to do some extensive planing for my game this weekend. Somewhere inbetween homework and Champions 2.

I'm jumping on the bandwaggon. A great idea lept into my head today. I'm going to hop right back into RPGM1 and make a new game. A new game called JumpKid. It will be cool. I promise.

I got out my copy or RPG Maker and plugged my Dex Drive into my computer, today.

Maybe I'll put something together. I hadn't planned past this stage.

Im making a game for Rpgm1 called "Stega:Planet Quest." I've already made a decent start and am beyond my first town and castle. Anyways, I don't have the whole plot worked out, but there's a basic premise to it. You play as Marlin Grey, a retired stega mercenary (more on this later), who lives on a remote planet called Sett Liux (SET LYOO). Marlin lives in a small cottage in the woods outside a small town called Sudoni. He is awakened from his bed one morning by a low wail (it's actually the cat meowing sound effect slowed way down). The rest of it is him investigating this sound and finding some mysterious creature that he recognizes but the player does not. Marlin drops clues to his past throughout the game. Well I don't want to tell everyone the whole plot, but the title does make sense, you just find out about STEGA later. But I'm putting lots of minigames in it. I've created a cool arcade game called SUN RUN. I'm planning on making a fully functional fishing system. I have one already, but it relies on percentages instead of manual control of the line. That's about it.

Im thinking about making an RPGM1 game.

But not sure what to do.

I've got a couple ideas.

Desert Savior: A mysterious cowboy who arrives to a town who is in dire need of his help.

To Hell and Back: An epic journey in the vein of Dante's Inferno. Play as a religious man named Elias who dies and is sent to Hell for a reason unbeknownest to him.

The House of Lazarus: You play as the sorcerer Lazarus and a few people invade your home and you must defend it with traps and demons.

How about a mysterious coyboy who dies and ends up in Hell, and he has to protect it with demons and traps.

How about Monkey Brothers? I've already finished the sprites (as you can see). However, I'm having some difficulty with making cool dungeons and trying not to make this game too much like Zelda. I'm thinking of having a mix: Zelda, Mario 64, Donkey Kong, Crash Bandicoot and (of course) some original elements of mine. Should I work on it some more do you think?

I'm thinking of having a mix: Zelda, Mario 64, Donkey Kong, Crash Bandicoot and (of course) some original elements of mine. One thing I didn't like about DK64, you had to go over each area at least 5 times since so many stuff could only be found with a certain Kong. I don't mind having to do a little backtracking because I found a move that I needed before, but when you have to do it so many times, it gets real tedious. If certain areas or Jiggies/Gold Bannannas/Stars/whatever can only be found by a specific monkey, that's fine by me, but don't make it so EVERYTHING has to be found using each monkey.

I've had RM 1 for a long time, but I never did anything with it (other than making silly events out of boredom.
But now that I have a dexdrive, I decided to give it a serious shot, and I'm right now making a game called Rincar, or Unaverage Bill:

Bill is a man who would be an average Joe in a normal world. Or he would, if the average Joe wouldn't have one of many possible abilities, like throwing fireballs, teleporting, super vision/speed/strength, morphing, call down lighting, shoot beams of light, talking to animals, summon goblins, talking telephatically, or.. well, you get the idea. He is the only one who can't do any of that.
Until the day that he finds out he IS indeed special, and he will play an important role in saving the world.
He doesn't care too much of that tho, he just wants to prove to his neighbors how awesome he is now (And what better way of proving your awesomeness than saving the world?)

So, you play as Bill, and get to interact with every citizen of Porico Town, (which includes, a blind librarian, a telephatic emo baby, a 1337 talking king and a fire throwing wife) while trying to find out more about his powers and lending a helping hand to his neighbors.

I guess this sounds somewhat retarded, but it actually has a plot, and I'm trying to make it so that while you can't obviously use every citizen in your party, they can still play an important role on the story or puzzle solving. (Like throwing your wife's cat to hit a switch from afar, and then find a way to get your cat back, or calling that neighbor that has super strength to push big rocks away)

Oh, this is also the first game I'd be actually finishing. :lol So basically I'm a newbie at this. So far I've completed the first "chapter" (It would be the first chapter if my game actually had chapters)
