What model do you use for your main character in RPGM3 games? 2 of my (uncompleted) games used the Adventurer model, but my current project uses the Lizardman model.

Re: Main Character Model Choices?
Fatal Insanity used the male gold knight model for the "main" hero.
Dreadlord uses the King model with the undead looking color selection.
Forest of Deceit's protagonist uses the townsman model with the hat.
I have another side project that uses the warrior model, and another where the main character alternates between the gold knight model (For his war recollections) and one of the townsman models (for the main storyline). Plus there's another I was going to use the male adventurer model for.
Long story short: I generally don't favor one kind of character model. Sometimes it's based a little on the weapon choice, but usually it's based on the appearance I envision them in, especially since I can equip them with weapons they aren't built for.

Not undead-looking enough, I'm sorry to say.
I would like to have it so the model for my Earthly incarnation of the god of Chaos doesn't look like he fell in a pool of water while traveling in Antarctica.

Re: Main Character Model Choices?
If I ever make Living Legend I'll probably use the adventurer in the green outfit since that's one of the few with a portrait that matches it exactly. I also like the look of the Archer but then he'd have to be an archer which is lame, especially since the weapon trick doesn't work well with them.I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty!

Trust me, "the King" is scary enough.

Re: Main Character Model Choices?
I usually don't have a problem with choosing main character models. For a game I'm workng on, I have the dancer in blue as my main character (did anyone else notice that she runs wierd?)."If I have to step on everyone just to get to the top, then I will...I just hope my heel doesn't get stuck in some fat guy." I (presonally can't spell) like the "evil-looking" models that RM3 has available as well as the "joke" ones (like Wonder Woman, Snow White, Hamburglar...) but truly miss the ability to custom make heroes like the last two RMs (RM1 & RM2) had...A God from the Machine - Menander

LOL!! You're right... they do look way too much like the characters you mentioned to take seriously.I (presonally can't spell) like the "evil-looking" models that RM3 has available as well as the "joke" ones (like Wonder Woman, Snow White, Hamburglar...) but truly miss the ability to custom make heroes like the last two RMs (RM1 & RM2) had...
I'm actually using the Knight (Evil) 2D model (Drawn 5, I think) as my main character's portrait, and I seriously doubt I'm going to change it. The character isn't particularly evil or dark... it's simply one of the more appealing portraits in my opinion.
EDIT (3/31): Woops, guess I should mention the 3D model I was using too. I'm using the white-clad thief model. Like Obi, I generally pick by the 2D models... though when I go for the 3D models I go for spiritual match with the character a bit moreso than appearance match with the 2D model.Last edited by Wavelength; 03-31-2007, 08:38 PM.

Re: Main Character Model Choices?
For me, it's much easier to pick a 2D portrait that I like, and then try to pick the 3D model that matches it the best. Only in very rare cases have I done it the other way around, and it was usually because the model needed to equip a certain weapon.
If the 2D portraits and 3D models match fairly well, I can live with a less-than-ideal model...but the portrait is most important to me.
For Shadow of the Towers I used the adventurer model for Troy, and for Tree of life I'm using 16 different models for the main hero(ine)'s possible forms.Last edited by Ωbright; 03-31-2007, 12:59 AM.
