That's really close to Nagoya where my host family lives.

At least I think it's close. My frame of reference is all off when it comes to Japan. It's what happens when the state you live in is larger than most other countries.

In other Japanese news one of my friends got accepted to Nova(an english teaching program in Japan) so now there are two people who I can crash with for those spur of the moment, "Let's go to Japan!" trips.

Yeah I got a friend who might do the JET thing and teach English over there, I guess it's the same thing as this NOVA as you call it.

But I'm afraid of earthquakes, giant robots, godzillas, small children and dogs so who knows.

Well for me it's more the stories of the state of their economy that scare me from living there, that and the fact I really don't have the money to move anywhere right now. Add to that the fact the major cities there are some of the most expensive cities in the world to live in (Tokyo I believe still being the most expensive city in the world to live in). But I know at some point before the year is out I'll likely be flying out to stay with a friend who has a place over there for a week or so. Maybe by then I'll have this whole Kanji thing down, and be able to speak enough to not look like a bafoon.

I'll probably be able to do the second, Kanji however is a completely different story.

That culture's MESSED. UP. WHY would you USE THAT for your WRITING SYSTEM?

I don't know. From what I saw while I was there you could live pretty inexpensively. I don't know about getting an apartment or house or whatever but food and entertainment seemed to be ok.

I'd probaby have to have my family send me clothes that fit though.

Because they thought the Chinese were cool, and spaces were not? I just hate the fact that a lot of magazines and such use all 3 ****ing writing systems in one sentence. That's not confusing at all. *sigh*
