If this keeps up all war is going to be is insults flying through enemy lines because no one can kill each other
I've to admit, I'm a bit disappointed because I was thinking this was some sort of tangible force field (a la Star Trek), but this still looks pretty cool.
I wonder what's the "top secret method" they use to disable the missle? I'm guessing that once a missle is in a certain range, the vehicle emits a frequency that causes mechanical resonance, causing the missle to fail. This makes sense to me because the video said that the "force field" was only able to work when a missle is flying through the air. Since waves travel at different speeds in different mediums (air, water, soil, etc.), the device isn't able to simultaneously compensate for wave speed in soil (for land mines) or water (for torpedos), which would change the calculated frequency the device needs to emit. I might be dead wrong, but this is the only thing I can think of.
This seems really interesting to me. I wanna see more of this in action.
In the beginning the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and is widely considered as a bad move.
Over the last few years, however, researchers have successfully teleported beams of light across a laboratory bench. Also, the quantum state of a trapped calcium ion to another calcium ion has been teleported in a controlled way.
There was a better article I read a few months ago that went into detail on how they performed it, but I cant find it now
Looks to me it's just an anti missile missile. I know I saw something shoot out of that tank to hit the RPG. This is likely why it only works in the air, since it's probably not strong enough to penetrate land, and not maneuverable enough in the water to track and destroy a torpedo. Looks like it's some kind of object that makes the RPG think it made impact with something and blow up. Still cool though. Possibly a well aimed rock traveling at high velocity.
Well, they didn't exactly explain what hits the missile. Or did I miss that?
I mean it seems to throw something at the missile like an invisible punch to trigger the explosion from a distance. But is that a force field in one direction?
I watched it again, and I couldn't see anything shoot towards the missle; maybe I just haven't a keen eye. Still, if it's just an anti-missle, it sort of defeats the purpose of calling it a "force field" (and showing us that area of effect animation), which would be disappointing
Well it is Fox News, they're not the brightest. I guess it could be a burst of something non solid, but from the video it certainly looks like something shoots out. I guess it could be the missile shorting out or something, but looked like something more solid. Guess we'll know like 10 to 20 years from now when it's declassified. Or in like a month when someone leaks it to the net. Of course he also said it 'hits' the head. Which could mean physically, or could be figurative, who knows.

True, they were so vague with the report, it's hard to tell what really happens. It fustrating to hear about new technology when all they're going to say is "We have it, but we're not telling you how we do it." I'm hoping this "top secret" method gets leaked soon; I'm too intrigued to wait.
