So, uh... I saw TMNT today.

Long story short, I thought it was a good movie. Probably not gonna win any awards, but it's not like it became a total flop. It was family friendly too, which while it might not get a rise out of most(if not all) pavilionites, it was entertaining without the heavy adult influence many movies who claim to be kid-friendly are guilty of. Great movie the kids can watch, but packed with enough movie staples the adults can enjoy. IMO, America needs more movies like these.

    SPOILERS AHEAD...

What I didn't like in particular, was the models. April looked terrible IMO(Karai was hawt though). and Casey looked TOO cartoony(in fact, every male did), with the exaggerated faces. And the turtles, they looked hella skinny, like they haven't been eating enough pizza. In fact, EVERYONE looked like they needed more pizza. O_O A dab of food additives will do ya in their case. The way the graphics were displayed in such situations as lighting and weather was pretty cool though.

What I particularly liked, were the scenes where Raphael was fighting one of the monsters that was tied to the master plot(go read it, I don't feel like spelling it out), and going against Leonardo. The plot was pretty simple to understand while not being [Sonic and the Secret Rings]stupid, which was something I also liked. Unfortunately, I felt the plot was overall rushed, like there could've/should've been more(and I wished there was).

    SPOILERS END...

Overall, if you're a TMNT fan(I pretty much wasn't, I just liked the games), and don't mind shelling out theater fee, go and see it. I believe this is one of those movies that are truly worth going to the theater for at least once.

Dave and I are planning on seeing it eventually.

I don't mind how the turtles look, but like you said, the people look awful.

I still need a DVD copy of the first TMNT movie. I have it on VHS...

I too think the turtles should've been beefier. |:3

I may go see it with some family members. I'm still pretty skeptical about the movie, but I'll hope for the best.

Is it able to maintain the delicate balance of giving fans what they want while delivering something new??

They're already selling the TMNT movie action figures over at Toys R' Us and Target. I LOVED playing with my friend's Ninja Turtles when I was younger.

The new figures looks pretty cool, but I'm not a kid anymore so I can't get them unless I wanted them as a collector's item--but that'd mean I'd have to refrain from tearing open the cardboard.

the Raphael/Leonardo fight scene was so great.

                      *** END SPOILERS ***

I love that the movie focused on Raphael so much. he was always my favorite turtle. I did notice a familiar name in the end credits though... one... JAMES ARNOLD TAYLOR?

Yeah, critics are hating on it calling it a commercial for the new toys. I guess no one should be surprised the old movies/cartoons got the same treatment.

But fringe/geek sites enjoy it (Comingsoon.net, IGN) and my old roommate loved it.

I'd just hate to see it alone. No one around's as big a Turtle fan as I am.

Oh yeah, the voice of Tidus!

Also, the guy who voices Mikey is, interestingly enough, the same guy who voiced Ratchet in the first Ratchet and Clank game. Righteous.
