There are no negative reprecussions. everyone involved called the media and asked why it wast covered. they've been very open about this since it happened, and everyone is still a free man.

The only thing that concerns me security wise is the fact that even with all the extra precautions these guys were able to drop off two pallettes of stuff by talking their way in.

I doubt that if they had explosives they would've got through. Necklaces are one thing, but bombs are totally different.
