Game Maker or Flash would be my guess.

Plus technically I don't think this goes here.

The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

      I'll let it stay.

You can also do it in RPGMXP, but it would take more work then it would take in Gamemaker.

But I suggest you actually sit down and learn one of the two before you try to attempt it on the first go.

Don't question Vonwert, Hito. It stays!

for future reference, any game creation that doesnt involve RPG Maker goes in the video games forum.

Hey, I've been working on a RPGM3 adaptation of Castlevaina for a few weeks now (of course, I have my own story and characters). The enemies weren't too hard: I had skeletons, zombies, ghosts, and even a few Armors. The bosses were a little bit tricky, but I'm getting around that.

For the Castle I just cooked up a bunch of dungeons and connected them by warp points.

Unfortunately, there are no whips In RPGM3, but I don't care (I have my own characters).

EDIT: The hard part was the name (the Castlevania series already has the good names), but for now I'm calling it Half-Moon.

Anything else you want help with?

RPGM1, I assume? Well, to start off, just what sort of Castlevania are you hoping to create? Overhead, or sidescroller? Turn-based, or real-time? Like classic level-by-level Castlevania or the modern Metroidvania?

Weren't there some Castlevania games w/o whips?

At any rate, if you want to make an RPG with Castlevania elements, RPGMaker is probably the way to go. If you're trying to make a classic Castlevania style game, then flash, Game Maker, or, if you're really ambitious and interested in getting an early start into game development, Visual C# might be options to consider.

Then there's Dark Basic, if you want to make a 3D Catlevania.

Symphony of the Night; Curse of Darkness: CV games w/o whip. In the main game, anyway.

Personally I'd love to be able to make a game with GameMaker but I'm too lazy to even draw sprites unless it's for an RPGM game, for some reason.

Don't forget Portrait of Ruin and the two Sorrow games (Aria and Dawn).
The closest thing in RPGM3 to a whip would be the Naginata.

Speaking of which, what is GameMaker, really? Sounds interesting.
