The stars perfectly trace the outline of existing NiGHTS artwork.
Lets hope this is legit. Sega had a poll running a while ago asking what old franchise people wanted to come back, and they've talked about the possibility of NiGHTS on the Wii in the past...

I don't think any of the systems hardware is in the Wii. It's all software emulation. They're adding Neo Geo and MSX to the VC. They could add Saturn in the future if the processors are comparable in power. (EDIT: Joystiq beat me to it.) But it's a moot point because I'm pretty sure the rumored NiGHTS game is a new game made for Wii.

PS. I just did a Google search for "NiGHTS wii" and the first link is an article from back when it was still called Revolution. This is one long standing rumor.

I could've sworn that there's dedicated hardware in the Wii for NES, SNES, N64, Genesis and TG-16.

Valk told me this one time. The games for the VC aren't emulated--rather, they run on those system's processor chips built in the Wii console.

As for the Nights game, I liked the Saturn game and if there's truth to the rumor of a new NightS for the Wii, I'll probably get it.

I can confirm that a prominent member of the Mega Man community met a Nintendo rep explaining this fact to an EB Games manager.

However, that doesn't necessarily mean it's impossible for it to emulate other consoles.

Regardless, it seems far more likely that this dealie is referring to a potential Wii NiGHTS title.

I'd like Sonic Team to work on it again. If not them, then maybe Amusement Vision. Under Sega's belt, the two development teams make excellent titles.

No, really. They've all but ruined Sonic already, and the first NiGHTS was built entirely upon super-tight controls. I shudder to think what a sequel might mean.

I loved NiGHTS! While I never had a Genesis.... or was it Saturn? Oh well, doesn't matter, I didn't have any Sega system. One of my friends had the game and I absolutely loved it. If the rumors have any truth to them, then they better not **** things up!
