    Best Replay Values

What games have you played that in your opinion has the best replay value?

My choices would be FF7, COD Finest Hour and Azure Dreams, I dont play games much anymore these days so Im not in the know about a lot of new ones, but I can use games mentioned in here as leeway to know what to try.

    Resident Evil 4

    - You got Mercenary modes after you beat the game, and new stuff that unlocks like weapons and outfits that can be used in the 2nd playthrough. Not to mention that it is fun to play no matter how many times you beat it.

    Half-Life 2

    - Condersidering that the game is so much fun to play, going through multiple times might not unlock anything, but you can always have fun messing around with the objects in the maps. And just have fun exploring.

Monster Hunter, it's an online game and doesn't really have an ending so like an MMORPG you just play as long as you want, or as long as the servers are running.

Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, if you like the MK storyline you can never get tired of playing it. I know I don't.

The Sims games. If you like them at all to begin with that is.

Bully. I haven't finished it yet but I definitely see myself playing it for all the minigames and mischeivous fun after I've finished it.

I'm surprised 0 / 3 mentioned Chrono Trigger's New Game +. I haven't really messed with it myself because the first time I played it was recently, but people mention new game+ enough.

I agree with Azure Dreams. Imagine it with two or three towns and dungeons.

Oh, and Guitar Hero. Even long after it's beaten, I can always pick it up and play a song or two.

          Re: Best Replay Values

I tend not to replay RPGs and I've never been one to seek out 100% completion in anything. When games become a chore, I'm done with them.

Super Mario Kart...untold hundreds of hours with a friend in battle mode. We also wore out the Champions of Norrath games for PS2. Probably 300 hrs of play in Gladius. Street Fighter II for the SNES...no way to get an accurate count, but probably on the order of hundreds again.

In my opinion, a lot of puzzle games have excellent replay value. Tetris is one example. I have Tetris Elements for my PC and I like playing it from time to time to beat my score.

Dr.Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Columns are also wonderful puzzle games that have good replay value. It isn't like you beat a game and it's all over. For puzzle games, it's like an endurance mode and you keep coming back to it to see how far you can get in score and in progress.

Command & Conquer (any of them with skirmish), seeing how many super weapons you can get in one match is pretty fun, or what percentage of the board you can cover.

Mega Man X (the good ones, especially 3 or 4), just a quick (couple hours) and fun adventure game, that plays just as good almost every time.

Harvest Moon 64, though it takes a while to play through, it's fun trying out different scenarios on each one.

Super Mario 64, still enjoy what that game brought to the 3D platformer, and it's still fun to play even though I've beat it 5 or more times.

It should be pretty obvious to anyone and everyone who has been here for at least a year or so, but for me, it's Monster Rancher. Especially Monster Rancher 2. So many breeds, there are quite a few I haven't even raised yet.

As for how long I've played it, well, let's just say I know what happens at the end of year 9999.

I was going to say the Monster Rancher series but I knew you'd come with it Desi.

                            Wise decision.

Going by the games I've played the most I'd say:
                              Final Fantasy 4, 6, 7
                              Sims 1 and 2
                              Guitar Hero 1 and 2
                              Chrono Trigger
Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari
                              Tetris
Champions of Norrath 1 and 2
                              Dark Cloud 2
Zelda: A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time
                              World of Warcraft
Simon the Sorceror 1 and 2
                              Kings Quest 5, 6, 7
